Constantly breaking

We’ve had to replace the control panel over 5 times in the four years we have owned this piece of junk, along with the door (the inside glass shattered when we used the self clean function), the broiler element, the convection fan, and the temperature control. HUGE waste of money. Will never buy a GE appliance again.

This unit is brought down by it's touch control panel failure. I've searched around online and found that numerous people are reporting the same problem. When the touch control panel fails, the only functions left are the gas burners. GE will sell a replacement component, but this is also apparently destined to fail over time.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I am so pleased with this range. It is so versatile. Not only is it great to cook on, but it is also easy to clean! The GE profile is a real cooks range, and I would recommend it to anyone who is just learning to cook, or is a seasoned chef; such as myself!

Perfect Cooking Range

The flame is perfect blue on all the burners. The flame comes on instantly. The range is a lot heavier than another top brand that I tried and returned. This means it has heavy steel. Looks modern and classy. Oval burner knob has a pre-heat setting to warm it up quickly.

Looked at every high end slid in range available. Selected this because of the features. It met or exceeded our expectations and is head and shoulders above the "high end" unit we replaced.

I haven't used a gas range in many years. While waiting for our home to be remodeled we rented an apartment that had a gas range. It reminded me how much I liked cooking on one. I could not even compare the apartment range to this beautiful range in my home now. I wish I had more time to cook...it is such a pleasure to cook on it. I haven't really baked anything in the oven so I can't speak to that. The oven is electric and we are used to electric ovens and think they cook pretty well. I was advised by a number of people not to get a gas oven because they cook differently. This range looks as good as some of the most expensive that we have seen...in fact better. You might be asking why I didn't I rate it 5 stars...We are only in the house about 6 weeks and I don't think I have done enough cooking to rate it 5 yet. When I am making a big meal using all burners I will know just how good this beauty really is. I have read complaints about the knobs but so far they are great. I would not be happy we have a problem with them, A range like this should not be junk plastic and the stings should not wear off. I will become known to GE if that should happen.

After considerable research, settled on this great GE product which gives us the best of both worlds: electric range coupled with a gas stove top. Great features, easy to use, very efficient. Thumbs up !
