Good Bad Beautiful

Purchased for the 24" depth, Love the slate, decided I would rather have door shelf space than the ice/water dispenser. The inside water dispenser is awkward. (I use a reverse osmosis for drinking water anyway, it cannot be connected to dispenser) Door shelves are super. The wide meat/cheese drawer is great, food is spread out instead of piled, so you can see what you have. Same with the french door, I can see and find what I am looking for. A side by side, I had to hunt for everything. Freezer has a lot of room and compartments are convenient. This is a smaller unit so it is better for an empty nester, a larger unit would be better for a family. Two months old, the ice maker froze , and one of the fans in frig stopped working. Warranty replaced the fan, it took 3 days for the appointment, frig was 87 degrees, meat drawer fan was working is stayed at 36. Fortunately I had kept my old frig. The handles do show fingerprints, I tie decorative dish cloths around the handles and grip like a potholder to open the frig and freezer. It is quiet, not noisy as others have stated. Even though it had a problem, I really like it.

Went with counter-depth. This results in less storage capacity. Overall performance is good. Not happy with water dispenser, it drips for to long after glass is removed and switched off.

Beautiful outside but very loud

We purchased in Nov. 2014. This is a beautiful finish in slate and love the counter depth size. However it is very loud running with vibration and rattle. People always asking what is wrong with our new refrig. At times I need to turn a radio on to block the noise.One month after purchase the fresh food section would not cool except for the deli drawer which froze everything. The evaporator fan stopped working and was replaced with the second service call. As reported the handles are impossible to keep clean. Have kept a small towel draped over freezer handle to use frequently. After having had my last refrig for 20 years with never a problem this is a major disappointment. Other than the beauty of the slate I would never buy this again especially at the high cost. I except more from General Electric quality.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

WE ENJOY HAVE THIS LARGE REFRIGERATOR. IT IS VERY NICE. WE HAVE HAD SOME PROBLEMS WITH THE IN DOOR water filter system. After you get the water the tube tends to leek quite a bit of water afterwards. We have had to put a paper towel inside to soak up any water that leaks. I will be calling to see about getting this fixed.

I love my new GE Profile. The freezer is a drawer, which I had never had and takes some getting used to, but I totally love it now.
