Best picture I've ever seen

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am completely satisfied with this purchase. After much research I selected this set and received a perfect picture and the perfect size. Of course the OLED picture is the best and even the curved screen contributes! It may be just an illusion but there seems to be a depth of field without using the 3D feature.

Most realistic picture yet
on November 1, 2014

Color and contrast on this TV is exceptional. Colors show subtle variations never before seen on a TV or movie screen. The overall effect is the most realistic presentation yet for any medium (video or film).
The only drawback to this tv is a user interface that is a little awkward to operate and that hides many of the controls in low level menus that are difficult to access even when you know how you are supposed to get there.

Excellent TV

I purchased this TV about a month ago and this is the best TV I have ever owned. I have had both plasma and LED TVs prior to this. The contrast and blacks provided by the OLED are very important to me and this is superior in both areas.
There are numerous video settings to get the picture to match your preferences.

Best TV that beats all future technologies
on December 4, 2014

The LG OLED TV has set the bar very high for all others to meet. This TV is absolutely the best, best viewing, best black & whites, best colors and contrast, and very easy to set up and use.
We waited until a TV with true black and whites was available before leaving our rear projection TV. All LCD and plasma TVs come up short in black and white that is so critical to get true color and contrast. The OLED technology has set a new standard.
My only "disappointment" is that I had to purchase the camera separately. However, it immediately was operational when plugged into the TV USB port and provides great pictures.
I looked for this TV when I read a CNET review that said it is the best TV available ... so right they are.

Best.Picture.Ever.

I spent about 2 months researching which HDTV to purchase; various online retailers and electronics/gadgets website. It came down to three major brands. I couldn't be happier with my purchase: with the lights off in the living room the blacks are deep and true. The contrast is very good, even with the pre-programmed settings, and much better than the contrast extemes you would see in other sets. The speakers are suprisingly balanced and for now we won't need a sound bar. The color spectrum is very life-like; the best way I found to set proper saturation is through using the sd card slot, with a memory card that contains both black and white pics and full color. There was some judder with fast action sporting events, but you have to look really hard to notice this. You could spend more money for a faster refresh rate on another hdtv, but you wouldn't get the same overall picture quality with this OLED set. The user interface is also very good: simple, straight forward menu ribbon on the bottom when settings are selected. I love the remote control: very easy to use especially if your a hardcore gamer. Speaking of which, video games from ps4 look amazing! no judder with the set refresh rate. overall, I am very pleased with this tv, and would highly recommend this to anyone! two very big thumbs up!!

Depth of enjoyment beyond compare!
on December 24, 2014

Im not getting younger and dont want to waste my time on lesser experiences! This is the BEST! You can enjoy it NOW! Dont wait 5 years for true 4K media to be availabe. From what ive experienced and seen demonstrated for 4K it doesnt reach/provide the OLED entertainment. And, the passive 3D can be enjoyed without quality reduction over 30 feet from the screen. Its even better than the "Theater" Real3D with no muss and fuss over batteries or available glasses. My high-end friends watch it with jaws dropped. The BLACK recreation sets all the colors - beyond compare. Let this OLED into your life!

Great Picture
on January 10, 2015

Purchased the 9300 in Late October because of the excellent picture. The only negative point I have about the 9300 is the documentation/manuals are woefully lacking. This TV has much capability but trying to figure out how to utilize that capability is difficult. I'm not a novice at adjusting the settings on a TV but I still am experimenting after three months with the capabilities of this TV. When we got the TV home we couldn't match the excellent picture quality we saw at the store. After a week of trying I asked a tech from the store to come out and check over the TV. He did visit our home and did get the TV adjusted to our satisfaction but I still haven't found the settings screens he used to adjust the TV. We downloaded the manual from LG's website but it's the same as the printed copy that came with the TV which covers maybe 10% of what it should.
Other than the documentation factor we are statisfied with the 9300.
Pros: documentation

The next generation of Television is here...

This TV is the best I have ever seen - the colors are so vibrant and brilliant. The 55" screen has a slight curve and offers larger viewing angles from the sides it is much better than I have ever seen on any other TV. Viewing or streaming 3D and Blu-ray movies with a LG - 4.1-Channel Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer is an experience that I would highly recommend. The smart TV features are well thought out and the OS is updated periodically which gives the viewer more options with apps and games.
