This printer was bought to replace an older Epson printer. I have had good luck with Epson printers and I have owned 3 of them over the years. So far it was easy to setup the wireless printing and has worked great.

I have been using Epson since I first started my own photography business. I tried using another printer for a year and it had such poor quality that Epson is the only printer is only one I will ever buy again! True to the quality, brand, and name! Would recommend to anyone!

XP-820 printer review
on August 29, 2015

I've had my Epson XP -820 printer for 3 months and I am very pleased with it. One of my deciding factors to go with the XP-820 was its ability to print CD's which it does very well. Print quality is very good. with good speed. I have only two complaints about the XP-820 first I which it had a deeper paper tray for 8.5" by 11" paper. The 100 sheet capacity of the tray requires paper be added frequently. My second complaint is that, since this printer is capable of so many things, I wish that the 300 page plus on line users guide included an alphabetical index.

The Artisan 810 was my favorite multi-purpose printer. When it wore out I replaced it with the XP-820. Paper handling is precise. Color photo printing is outstanding. It does everything well.

This printer does a great job. I love the paper size options and quality printing. I am having trouble with replacing the ink cartridges. The printer doesn't recognize the new cartridges. It is a real issue because I can't print at all. Hoping to resolve this problem very soon. I have tried all the troubleshooting options I can find.

uses too much ink, will not print with just black. demands color cartridges be replaced. no discount ink refills available. wish I would have taken it back right away.
bought for personal and business use, need just simple black pages printed but wanted full color when we need them.
printing just regular pages and not that many and ink runs out.

would never purchase again

The printer is difficult to set up. It has several input cassettes and although you select one it does not mean the printer will use it. The printer is cheaply made, the cartridges empty fast and are pricey. It is rather slow when compared to other printers and the out put tray is constantly in the way, going up or down. The one good thing about the printer is the picture quality is very good.

Ease of use, Versatility, Affordability

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the color printing. Considering that this little powerhouse shares its printing with copy and Fax capability (which latter I do not intend to use) I did not expect such beautiful color reproduction. I was able to set it up easily by myself, that is not having to call a techie for help. The price is right. I didn't expect so much for so little.
