Best printer I've ever owned

My XP-820 all in one printer has been the best and easiest printer to use that I have ever owned. I have used it at home and carried it in my RV for a year now and had very good success with it. My only complaint is that it seems to run out of ink too quickly. Wish there were larger print cartridges available.

The printer -- the first I've ever owned -- is excellent. Very versatile, easy to set up, high quality.
The problem for me is the ink. The cartridges don't last long; no big deal. But the replacement cartridges are way, way, way, way too expensive. The ink required for a modest amount of printing will cost several times the purchase price of the printer -- per year. And there appear to be no alternatives, such as refills for empty cartridges (my collection of those, after one year, would fill a small waste basket). If I had realized this I wouldn't have bought the printer. Bottom line: Excellent printer, ridiculous operating cost.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great little printer

Purchased this to replace my Epson RX680. I have found this a feature rich printer that performs very well within a relatively small footprint. I would recommend this to all looking for a small all-in-one printer.

a happy surprise

I finally had to replace my old Epson 2200, which expired in its sleep from old age. I visited a local office supply retailer, where they were having a sale on the 820. I was impressed with the separate color cartridges.
The price was good, but the printer was a big surprise. The print speed was very fast. It actually did two sided printing, after it was properly configured, and the quality of the hi-res photos was great. The printer has proven reliable, and the company has proven to be loyal, supplying drivers for obsolete printers,(the old 2200) unlike some others.

very slow printer

Give nice quality, but the ink is on the expensive side and the printer takes a very long time from the time you press the button to print or copy until the machine seems to acknowledge the command. If you're in a hurry it's very frustrating.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This machine can do all the advertised functions without any problems. The fax comes in handy at times since doctors still prefer faxing.
