Difficult Set up

Had problems with it telling me over and over again that the packing tape was still attached. When it was not.
Understanding the paper load trays is extremely difficult. I am still having to learn. I have two that slid out and now I have no idea how to put them back in. The tray for regular paper is hard to find.
Ink placement is very easy. Make sure you hear them click. There are 5 ink cartridges. Printing is clear.
I have just started to set up and have not tried all the features
Plastic seems fragile, so be careful not to put too much pressure or too much paper to stress the plastic supports

Improvements

While the product itself performs as advertised. The Installation instructions lack sufficient detail to make the installation easy. It took me several tries to get things right. Which is very frustrating.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love the look and connivance of this printer, it has all my needs in a sweet little package. separate ink cartridges makes it economical and the ease of changing them is very nice. This is my first Epson, and my last. I will buy nothing but the Epson!!!

Can't set it up

Just my luck, tried to set up my new printer (XP-820) on a Saturday when the help desk is not open. I carefully followed the directions. Even having a Ph.D. didn't seem to help. After step 2, I kept getting a "printing error OxEA" message. Hmmm...how could it print before the installation of ink and paper, which are steps 3 and 4?
So, I went online thinking that maybe printing out the owner's manual would help. Golly! It is only 388 pages long!

SET-UP

WAS FAIRLY EASY TO SET UP AT FIRST TILL I WENT TO CONNECT IT WIRELESS THEN MY PROBLEMS BEGAN. TOOK ME A FEW HOURS TO FIND OUT HOW TO GET MY NETWORK PASSWORD TO LOWER CASE. THEN WHEN WENT TO SCAN FROM COMPUTER IT ONLY SHOWED PRINTER AS A FAX SO HAD TO INSTALL FROM COMPUTER AND SAME FOR PRINTER. SEEMS TO PRINT OK BUT NOT SURE IF IT PRINTS 5X7 PICTURE FROM TRAY (USE 4X6) PAPER AND IT ASK IF WANT 4X6 R 8X10 GUESSING IF I PUT 5X7 PAPER IN IT WILL AUTOMATIC SEE IT.(NOT SURE IF I LIKE THAT SINCE IT IS SOMETHING ELSE TO GO QUIT. BUT I THINK LIKE ALL MY OTHER ESPON PRODUCTS I USED IN THE PAST I WIL LIKE THE PRINTING BUT NOT SOME OF THE FEATURES LIKE THE TRAY COMES OUT BY ITSELF BUT NOT BACK IN. JUST HOPING THE PHOTO PRINT QUIALTY IS THERE SINCE I ONLY PRINTED ONE PICTURE ON JUST PHOTO PAPER AND NOT A GOOD QUIATILY PAPER YET
