Software problems

The printer produces amazing clarity and color on pictures, and is fast on documents. The software is some of the most frustrating and sloppy mess I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. When I loaded it initially, it downloaded several items I did not want on my computer, leading to losing my internet connection for several days. The particular item was something for tracking speed and use, as well as a virus checker (can't remember what it was called) which conflicted with my Norton. A friend who works on computers came and uninstalled every thing I had loaded, but in order to uninstall one item, he had to install it again. Then he downloaded the drivers from online. Later, when I was having problems setting up the scanner function and trying to copy pictures, I downloaded the help manual. Big mistake, since I also downloaded some other junk. Now, I get messages saying I cannot connect to all networks and the USB and Memory associated with Epson. It is almost not worth the time and effort.

Less than 15 minutes out of the box my iPhone was able to print on my new printer, the remainder of the setup was just as easy. This is my first Epson and it wont be my last. Quality, design and ease of operation make this an excellent choice. Photo printing is superb, copying is as easy as it can be, scanning to computer or cloud works well. I haven't used the fax - I don't need it. This printer has so many features it's difficult to review them all.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The printer is just OK. Sometimes, it takes a long time to start the print job, like 30-40 seconds. My biggest frustration is that when trying to scan with the touchscreen on the printer, it frequently (1/2 the time) says no computer is connected. However, I can control it from the Epson Scan program on my desktop.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Scanner difficult to use

At first it could scan from the printer control panel. Now, it says it isn't connected or the computer is busy. I've read all the FAQs, "help", etc. No help. I did discover that calling up the print dialog box gave the option to call up the scanner. With some trial and error, I was able to scan in my documents. I tried reinstalling the scanner driver but my new iMac doesn't have a slot for the CD and the driver from Epson download page didn't help.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is the hardest to install printer that I have ever had to install. Sorry about this but I tried to install it with the disc but to no avail. I still do not Have the printer set up for wireless operation.
