Superb Printer

Prints - beautiful photos and great everyday printing
I bought this printer / scanner to replace the other brand multifunction printer that had ceased to function as it should. This is my first Epson printer and has exceeded my expectations. One of my criteria was individual ink tanks. If my printer had the tri-color tank I will always have to replace it because I ran out of yellow ink. I bought extra yellow ink, and sure enough I had to replace the yellow and the black within 3 days of each other.

Epson XP 820

I purchased my new printer/scanner/fax machine the other day and I have just now set it up. I want to thank you guys for making it so easy to set up via the disc that came in the box. I love this product and will be recommending it to family/friends/co-workers. I just need to set up my fax and header, since I don't have a number I chose to set it up later. I'm hoping it's just as easy. Quality of my printed copies are 5 stars out of 5. Great product ! Love it !

Very easy to setup. Installation perfect!!! Installing ink cartridges are just a snap they are in a perfect location, great engineering, I LOVE MY EPSON XP-820. Thank You

Great! once I figured how to even print/start it

Set up was very easy!
What I had problems with was just trying to print a copy. I spent 30 mins trying to print something on the glass copier.
I had set up the paper as 2 sided, so that automatically meant I was using the ADF which I didn't know, and couldn't find directions on how to press start as it kept reading the ADF.
Once I figured out the setting I had was for 2 sided paper and changed it to 1 sided, then the glass copier was able to work and it printed out NICELY.
But it took time as there were no directions that copier needed 1 sided, as I thought if I had 2 sided I would save paper from my future copies. I am thinking I will have to change the setting each time I try to copy something and it doesn't automatically read what I try to copy and make it work with setting.

This is a very good machine. I only wish the paper tray held more.

Missing instructions/manual

Very disappointed the printer did not include any unpacking and setup instructions in the box. I had to go online to get those information, along with the owner's manual. An abbreviated instruction manual would have been very handy and helpful. I will post a printer review later as soon as I learn all the functions.

Easy Set-Up

Set-up was easy and guided with online prompts and easy-to-follow quick start directions. I have been an HP user for over 10 years. Lately, I have been disappointed with the quality and cost of HP printouts and ink. A salesman told me I would find Epson printers a better alternative and specifically mentioned the EPSON XP-820 as a printer that would match both my very small business and personal needs. So far, so good! We shall see!
