THIS IS THE BEST PRINTER WE'VE EVER OWNED. IT HAS HAD NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER AND DOES EVERYTHING THAT THE MANUFACTURER CLAIMS IT DOES. IT'S COMPACT, SCANS, PRINTS, FAXES, AND IS THE PRIMARY PRINTER FOR ALL OF OUR DEVICES. I WOULD RECCOMMEND THIS PRINTER TO EVERONE. ESPECIALLY WHEN I HAVE HAD SO MUCH BAD LUCK WITH PRINTERS IN THE PAST. IT IS AN INVESTMENT AND THE REWARDS WILL PAY OFF SUBSTANTIALLY JUST BY THE TIME YOU WILL SAVE FROM HAVING A DEVICE THAT WORKS ALL THE TIME INSTEADS OF HAVING A PRINTER THAT IS ALWAYS BREAKING DOWN AND GIVING CONSTANT HEADACHES. SO GO OUT AND BUY ONE AND TAKE MY WORD FOR IT YOU'LL BE GLAD YOU DID!!!

The printer is great. Love the encased paper tray, cover for the top loading and the "as you need it" back tray for printing speciality items i.e. labels.... Unfortunately this is where it loses that half star. There was supposed to be a way to program the printer to print with specific Avery labels...I couldn't find this 'way'...I wasted several misaligned prints of labels while doing trial & error via Photoshop...the other reduction goes to the printer paper settings...too much bleed on labels.
If you are printing everything else, this is a great MFC for the labels -- I don't know.

Easy to Use, Excellent Results

Using this printer is easy. The quality of the prints and copies are outstanding. The ink is affordable and lasts long. The Epson Customer Representatives are helpful. Registering the product is quick and painless. Serial number is easy to find. My only wish is that it held more paper at one time.
I would recommend this to a friend!

good printer/hard to find paper tray

I admit I am not in my prime and suffer from presbyopia, but it was really hard to find the actual paper tray, not the photo tray. This unit being solid shiny black plastic made it hard to find. My last Epson printer (CX6000) was gray and silver so you could see where things were. Easy to set up other than that, and printing was fast. The documentation with the printer didn't show where the paper tray was either, jut FYI.

I have printed out photo's and find the photo's turn out very nice. Although I didn't have the Epson brand of photo paper at the time the photos were made they were exceptionally good. I have since purchased Epson photo paper and I am sure it will be superior to any other brand. The copier is convenient to use so I don't have to boot up my computer each time I need a copy of something. I didn't have any trouble with my computer talking to my printer with Wi-Fi either. Very nice equipment. Fun to use.

Still can't figure out FAX installation

The installation went very smoothly until I got to the fax. My phone says check tel line, and the phone doesn't work unless I unplug the XP_820. I can't get the fax function to work. I followed the instructions very carefully. Otherwise, everything went well and I am looking forward to printing photos. Meanwhile, I will call Epson on Monday to find out why the fax feature isn't functioning.

Epson XP-820

Bought Epson XP-820 to replace older Epson for use under Windows 10. Like the multiple tray options and auto duplexing. Printing on CD/DVDs was one of the selling features as few inkjets do.
Really like sturdiness and compact design as well as ease of setup and use. Connected to Wi-Fi network easily. Haven't put it through a full workout as yet but has performed as expected without issues. Good speed and clear sharp images.
