I have had this all-in-one printer for about 2 years. EVERY time I attempt to scan something I have issues. This printer is NOT user friendly.

Pretty good

Good quality printing of documents and photos. Lacks manual feed. Everything has to be loaded in trays. Upper tray doesn't take envelopes so you have to remove the tray, remove paper and load envelope, print and reload paper. After replacing ink cartridge(s) the machine takes almost 10 (ten!) minutes to load ink and clean heads before you can print again. Good printer if you're not in a hurry.

The worst printer on the planet

I have the printer that this printer was supposed to replace, the Epson Artisan 725. It sounds like Epson has not improved any of the problems with the original printer in this version. I successfully get this printer to print about 30% of the time, and this has been going on for over 5 years. The printer always refuses to connect to the computers, saying it can't be found. This is the problem about 50% of the time. Then, you'll load new paper, and the printer will refuse to recognize that it has paper. Then, you'll run out of light cyan ink and be unable to print in black and white. There are so many things about this printer that I've hated since we bought it, and it sounds like nothing has improved.

set up directions were hard to follow. The pictures did not show all of the connections. There was little explanation of the hook ups. I had to figure out many on my own

Decent Small Printer

I have owned an Epson NX430 for several years and have been happy with it. I just upgraded to the XP-620. My printing is weekly with up to 50 pages per week max. I also print from my iPhone and iPad. I have a windows PC and print from it as well. Also have a newer decent wireless router.
I FOLLOWED the instructions and found the XP-620 was easily to set up wirelessly (easiest if you use a printer USB cable just for setup then disconnected - not included). After setup I printed wirelessly from my iPhone, windows 8 pc, and iPad. All worked as you would expect. I also wirelessly scanned a document from the printer to my pc - worked fine. I photocopied the test print page and it was of pretty good quality. Too early to tell about how fast it goes through ink though...
I read a lot of negative reviews about the older model xp-610 so was a little worried about buying this new model XP-620 printer but my past success with the NX430 swayed me. So far - for me - it seems like a good decision.

Loading paper and printing

I have finally given up and resorted to beer and the Walking Dead. I hope to sleep off the the frustration derived from trying to setup this printer. I'm loading the paper as directed (albeit there isn't a lot of direction provided) and continue to receive error messages, etc. I'm also not impressed with the manual nature of the multiple trays available for printing...it feels like a technological step backwards. I guess I'll have to wait until after the Thanksgiving Day crowds to return this for the 2nd time (the first one I purchased was scratched; I'm quite sure I wasn't the first owner).

Cannot print, error message to check paper tray!

Absolutely frustrated at this point. My husband spent 2 hours trying to set this printer up with no luck. When he connected his laptop directly to the printer it would allow him to select print a test page but wouldn't print and just kept asking to "Check paper tray" over and over and over.
I was able to install the drivers on my laptop but keep getting the same "Check paper tray" error, over and over and over. The paper tray is loaded and I even put in photo paper to be safe but this was this was to no avail. I'm about ready to return this printer to the store.

Trash right out of the Box

I bought a Epson Artisan 725 and the first time I was told by the printer that I needed to replace the cartridges, I did. The only problem was after dozens of alignments and cleanings it simply stopped working correctly. This forced me to buy a new printer (XP-620). It keeps asking me to open the scanner unit and remove all protective materials. I am a computer scientist, I've spent over forty years in this field of study and have repaired and replaced untold number of printers. I never had any trouble with Epson printers until the recent past. I had two (320,360), both fail to work, even after I replaced all the old inner parts that typically fail due to wear and tear. I'm not a happy person, I can't keep buying junk that doesn't work. You have cost me hundreds of dollars in delays. Now here I sit with a printer that won't even complete the boot process; because some invisible protective tape or protectors are still being identified by the printer itself. Inappropriate language goes here!
