I've had the Epson XP-620 printer for a couple of weeks. Now that I have everything tweaked, it's running fine and I'm very pleased with the results. However, the documentation for getting started does not give adequate instruction on identifying and pulling out the output tray before printing. Also, even though I was following the instructions closely, I still had trouble getting it to print labels directly on CDs. Albert, at the Epson help center, figured out the problem and with his guidance (and a little restructuring of the printer settings) I was able to print directly on CDs eventually. Now that the initial tweaking is done, the printer works great, but as someone who has written several manuals on software and hardware usage, I do feel the documentation that came packed with the printer and on the Epson website could be better.

terrible installation directions

The product seems fine now that I finally have it installed. The start up directions are unclear and incomplete. If you would take time to clarify the steps, and do a clear diagram of the product so that one can find the parts one is supposed to use, it would be great. As it is, it took me 2 hours and a phone call to support to get this thing going. Very unsatisfactory.

I did not read the instructions just jumped in. It was all straight forward. I run a mixed windows and mac wifi network and had no problems. Took about 10 minutes to unpack, connect to the network and print. No drivers needed for the Macs
You just need to make sure that the paper out tray is fully extended. It won't print unless it is.

I am just a student so this printer works fine for what I need it for, which is printing out assignments and papers. However, I have two complaints. First one being that it burns through ink way too fast. Not great on a student budget. The second being that if you run out of one colour of ink, you can not print, period. Let say for example I am out of yellow and cyan ink. Even though I set it to print in black and I have an almost full cartridge of black and photo black I cannot print my paper out because I have no yellow and cyan ink. All I get is this message that comes up and tells me I need to go buy their overpriced cartridges. Not impressed with that.
I just read a reveiw by Angela, I had the same problem. It took me forever to get the thing to work. error for paper ect. It's not for the average person. I was about ready to throw the thing in the wood heater. I had to figure out on my own how to get the trays in the right position to get it to operate. If I'd know how this thing worked as far as loading paper ect I'd never have bought it. I'm stuck with it now. It looks like it works but seems to be a really cheap printer. My previous printers were quite user freindly, easy to load and not a puzzle to figure out.

Good Purchase-Don't believe all other reviews

I purchased this product 1/20/15. I have used all the functions. Printing is fine. Printing directly to CD/DVD works great. Had a little trouble in set-up, as instructions are a little incomplete. However, this was a minor (first-world) problem. Did make one call to get help setting up the printer wirelessly, but that was probably user (mine) error. I love how it works and that it reminds me if I forgot something. A great deal for the price. The problems I read in reviews before I purchased it didn't happen. I wonder if there were user errors there too (my set-up was on MAC). I definitely recommend this product as there are so few that print to DVD/CD.

Have tried everything thinkable to get this machine started and print to no avail. Getting it set up in very complicated.. After several hours working on it I still do not have a functional printer. Donald Colson

printer is great, but, the manual was obviously composed by a person too familiar with it. Very frustrated trying to realize there are 2 cassettes (or loading paper, enevelopes, photos etc. ) and an 'output tray' all located in sort of a stack that have no detail and /or diagrams as to presence and / or function.
