I used to have an Epson Artisan 710, I bought this because it was a little smaller, and the ink was a little cheaper. I was extremely disappointed to find a shortage of print options in the print settings. I used to love the "fast economy" setting on the Artisan, and the XP-620 does not have it. The ink may be cheaper for the XP-620, but it also doesn't last nearly as long. It does print great photos, but in the long run its going to cost more money to operate. I'm having quite a bit of buyers remorse with this one. I wish I would have spent the extra money on an Artisan.

Very frustrating experience!

Were very excited to have a new printer with individual print cartridges! However, the set up of the printer was very frustrating. We never got past step 2, setting up the ink cartridge! The printer would keep giving an error message that it did not recognize one of the ink cartridges. After reading other's experience with Epson printers, we found that this is a common experience and causes people to become extremely angry (I can understand!). We will be returning the printer tomorrow to purchase a competitor's brand that hopefully will function much better. Too bad, it seemed like a great design, if it would only work as a printer!

Good printer, confusing instructions

The printer/scanner/copier seems to be a good machine, at a good price, but setting it up was a real nightmare because the instructions--including a "Quick Guide" booklet, a poster-sized set of diagrams, and a CD-ROM--were extremely confusing. Furthermore, the instructions displayed on the printer's screen did not jibe with those contained in the other materials, which did not jibe with each other! We finally figured it out by trial-and-error. Epson needs to come up with a more common sense, step-by-step approach to the setup process.

Great little printer

This is the first time I've owned an Epson product. I read reviews online and shopped for the Epson XP 820. That model wasn't available and when I compared the two models, I found that the features of the XP 620 would work just fine. I uploaded and printed lots of photos from a recent trip. They are amazing!!!. The printer was very easy to set up and connect to wireless printing. It's great to be able to print from my phone or my Ipad. I'm very pleased with normal printing projects as well. My only snag in the set up was figuring out what the output tray was. Initial attempts to print a test page showed an error message of the output tray being blocked. It took me about 30 minutes to figure out where it was and to pull it out of the printer for printing to take place. A diagram on the printer set up flyer or the quick print would have been very helpful.

Expression Premium XP-620 StepUp

This printer was an easy set-up. The literature offered was straight forward and all the products were in the box as indicated. The ink is sealed individually in shrink wrap plastic so you know the environment is safe. The photo printing works well and EPSON system updates are available providing internet access to the firmware which can be established almost automatically. The skin tone's and additional features for matching your color photos are terrific (have not tried B&W although I am a big fan of that feature). The front control panel access is intuitive and easy selection from the menus has the advantage of quick start-up. One thing that surprised me was the paper loading requires the paper stock to be face down in the two cassette trays. Be careful to line up the visual arrows when pushing the cassette trays in; otherwise you may need to power down the unit only as a safety measure to pull tray 1 back a bit. The human touch clearances are safe and isolated from any sharp edges providing a well engineered product as well as an outstanding work of art in the quality control aspects of the manufacturing process. Although I have not actually seen the warranty statement from EPSON in the on-line literature I am very happy with this purchase.

The paper trays are HORRIBLE. I was able to set up everything including the wireless without much difficulty but when it came to the paper trays that was a complete different story. You need to make them more user friendly!!!

New Printer XP-620

I have now been able to get this printer to work.
Remember to call the number (562)276-4382, included with your printer for technical support. I went online and almost was scammed by a technical support team that was not part of Epson and wanted to sell me a unneeded program. I called Epson directly to let them know how upset I was and they told me they would never try to sell me a program. So beware when you call using a browser to get the number

Frustrated start but all's well now

Setting up the printer went swimmingly until I tried to print the test strip, and it took me quite a while to figure out that there was a black tray against the black background inside the machine that had to be pulled out, and was not mentioned in the instructions; the picture describing it that kept appearing on the printer telling me what was wrong was totally useless, and it was only after the tenth try that I discovered this hidden tray. Now this is my fifth Epson printer in the last twenty years, and I've never had this kind of problem before. Other than that, it seems to be working fine, so far.
