Used Epson in the past so expected a great printer for home use. The XP-620 is the worst printer I have ever experienced. It just won't print unless you keep ink in the color cartridges. It is supposed to print in grayscale. The product is menu driven to the point the printer retains control of the user.

Quality Low Volume CD/DVD/BD Printer

I bought this printer primarily to print DVD/BD disk labels a few times a week for customers. To that end, this is absolutely perfect. The tray system it uses is a bit cumbersome to use but works very well, once you figure it out, if you only need to do few disks at a time. The software that ships with it is fairly standard OEM stuff that does a very competent job but lacks but doesn't need , in any real sophistication. It does however easily import jpg's made in Photoshop and does a remarkable job of transferring it to the disk. The documentation is fairly weak but it doesn't take long to figure out the little things it misses. I haven't printed very many pictures yet but the few I have, have been very clear and impressive. Overall, this printer far exceeds my expectations for a printer in this price range and any slight issues can easily be ignored for the same reason.

learning curve

I have always used Epson printers, and this is replaces an aging Stylus Photo R320. I use it often for printing music CDs for promotional purposes.
I was frustrated at first with the setup: two crucial points were not made clear (and I have talked to colleagues who gave up) The first is, toss the disk and go to the site for the download. The second and most unintuituve was needing to go to "A4" paper dropdown to find the hidden dropdown,"CD/DVD." Seems simple (I still don't understand the connection) and I've had no problem with the operation of the cd-print software.

Poor Documentation

The documentation is incredibly poor, incomplete and the graphics are difficult to understand. I do not think that it was prepared well for a native english speaker.
In addition, it would be a really good idea to include the USB cable with the printer. I happened to have one that would work but that is not to be expected of home users.
The set up and getting started is not good for a home user. Maybe for a business who has a tech department, but not for home use.

Just got the printer home from the store. Had a few problems with printing but resolved now. Printer tricky if you get in a hurry so go slow. Haven't tried the scanner or things yet. I did try printing from my wife's IPAD and that was easy and worked great.

Really not happy with this printer

The printer is awful, it takes forever to print and recognize the job that is asked of it. The printer will not print pictures accurately only the top of the photo is printed making you waste both ink and paper. I honestly preferred the xp400 which is the one I had before and things were simpler. Thinking I was making an upgrade purchase instead I got me more complication. If time is not on your side, this is not the printer to work with as it takes forever to send the document out and sometime may not even give you a full print.

After 2 1/2 hours I can't get it to connect and have put the password in at least 50 times. It won't print and it is not better than my old one.

This is the first time I have ever set up a wireless connection and had it work! The printer is so easy to set up, the only issue I had was the print cartridges - the printer wanted all of them and the quick start sheet said black only - then I finally realized it was referring to the shaking process. Duh. I am not technically inclined, I would rather run my tractor, work my bees, or something else outside than my computer. However, when I need it, it is nice to have it ready to go, and this one is so easy to operate. Thank you!
