A bit better than good but...

This is my second Epson printer, the first being a WF-3620 and the best printer I have purchased to date. The XP-620 was purchased to enable printing on DVD/CDs. I am a big fan of Lightscribe but since HP has decided to stop making the Lightscribe discs I had to find another way to print professional looking labels for my discs. I don't like stick on disc labels so the inkjet disc capable printer. Over all this is a good printer. Set up on my network was easy and I like the individual ink cartridges. The biggest issue is that the printer is in-decisive, I.e.; it seems to take it a couple of minutes to figure out the command and start printing. Also the instructions for use of the various print tasks are confusing. I have a degree in Applied Science in Industrial Engineering and have built automobiles but I have to really think about what I am doing with this printer. I think this is a quality machine but a better instruction manual is certainly needed. If I only had one printer it would be the Epson WF-3620 not the Epson XP-620.

XP-620 printer

WE needed a small in one printer that can print good pictures, which is our primary use. It does everything well, but it's "fussy" to get all settings and paper just right to print. We purchase all ink cartridges direct from Epson to get larger size. Had a leaking black cartridge which caused a fuss with Epson about which order number it was purchased on. With numerous orders how would I know or even care, it came from Epson, end of story. Also we experienced small random blobs of ink on the first few printed pages/pictures which appears to be coming from a small sponge pad on the right side of the print carriage which fills with excess ink. Would like larger paper trays but I realize the small size is a trade-off.

Way too much ink...

Print quality is ok, and speed is more than acceptable. The problem I'm having with this model is that is rips through ink like there's no tomorrow. If I would have known that it was going to cost me this much in ink I would have purchased a different printer.

I have been generally pleased with the XP-620. However, in the last few days it has started printing email messages improperly. It leaves parts of lines blank which makes it difficult or impossible to read the text in question.

This little all in one meets my needs perfectly. The software is easy to use and all the features I use most are easy to find. Display is easy to read. Paper loads easily and has not jammed yet in the year I have had it. The coolest thing is the 2-sided printing without reloading the paper, saves time, paper, and sanity. LOVE the individual color cartridges. It works well and it just makes sense.

Printer is fine but getting very tired of possible software problem. I've registered product three times and continue to have the registration prompt screen crop up at inopportune times Thank you.

I have enjoyed using Epson Printers for the last 8- 10 years at the firm. I print a lot of photos and print labels on printable DVDs for the firm. Good machines.
