Horrible smell - so frustrated with this stove

We bought this stove about 2 1/2 months ago. We have had five (5) visits from a stove technician to convert this stove from natural gas to propane. They have never been able to get the horrible smell to go away. I really want to return the unit and get something else.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We understand your concern with this range. When the oven first starts, it is normal to detect an unusual odor coming from the range. This odor is caused by the combustion of gas or propane at the burner and should go away with time. We would also recommend ensuring that the interior is cleaned with soap and water to remove any debris from cooking or manufacture.

Unreliable

Eighteen months ago, I special ordered this range based on my cooking/baking habits, research into competing brands & reviews. Flame height on burners did not hold adjustment. I calibrated the oven using a lab-grade thermometer & consistently use it when baking/roasting. Even so, oven temps were inconsistent week-to-week. After 18 months of normal use, the range displayed error codes. "Authorized repair techs" were unavailable for more than a week. I hired a local tech who arrived the same day. His expertise was worth his fee + parts. I had to replace an expensive control panel. Recommended only for occasional cooks.

Great stove, but oven is unusable.

We bought this range because of the professional features, and that it is made in America. Stove top was easily converted to LP, but we had issues with the oven for months and could never seem to get the oven adjusted properly. It appears that the stove is missing the oven burner air shutter! I’m extremely frustrated that after paying a premium price for a professional model, now I need to call out a repair guy yet again!

Everything I wanted!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When an expensive part on our old cheap range went bad we started looking up a new one. This one fit the bill. Powerful yet easy to tame burners. A cook top that cleans easily. Cast iron grates ALL the way across the cooking surface. An oven that heats quickly and holds the proper temperature. TWO easy to use timers. All in all we are very happy with our purchase. It was excellent value.

Decals wear off easily

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased 3.5yrs ago and decals are badly worn from cleaning with a wet dish cloth only. Also had to replace the igniter due to oven not heating properly, that's ridiculous given it's only a few years old.

Decal wear off the panel...

As I'm reading other reviews I see the same problem...the decals (temperature indicators) have worn off the panel so how do you set an oven? Is there a solution to this problem? Are there knobs with indicators as shown on the bottom of this page that will solve the problem? I trust Frigidaire will make this right!

Got a lemon

We bought this range about 4 yrs ago and had immediately has issues with the motherboard. We couldn't set the clock and the panel just didn't seem to respond. They came out and replaced it but we still continued to have issues with the numbers being hard to push, or the light not coming on. Sometimes the convection fan would come on and sometimes it wouldn't. I never used a timing setting, but sometimes the oven all of a sudden would just turn itself off - especially when I would use the broiler or cooking a turkey and I would walk in the kitchen to realize the blue use light was off (!) and nothing had been baking for a while! We had the maintenance guy out to address the issues from the motherboard (again) but some of the symptoms still appear. Otherwise- I enjoy using the convection feature (when it kicks on). I bought this model to have the hand controlled knobs for the oven but after cleaning it with a windex product the stencil markings started to ware off and a few yrs later there almost all off where I've had to remark the settings and totally rely on a temp gauge I keep in the oven. Re cleaning- I will never buy the black finish on the cooktop again. It really shows any speckle of dirt. When I'm wiping around the burners, the least little bump up against them knocks them off because they are so thin and lightweight. Annoying. The finish on the grating is difficult to clean and keep looking new. I've tried everything and no matter how much I scrub them, they look grungy gray compared to the shiny black finish on the bottom of the cooktop. I've wanted a new stove for some years now but have tried to get my use out of this as long as I could. I bake/cook a lot but my biggest annoyance is that I can't pull the door out without bumping an adjacent drawer. Note: If you have a small kitchen, make sure you check the depth and figure in the gas hook-up room needed from the wall (!) - or it will stick out further than you expected, not leaving the clearance you may expected from a previous oven.

Issues and money pit, do not buy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought the whole kitchen series in the Frigidaire professional line (fridge, dishwasher, microwave and range) pleased with everything BUT the range, model-FPGF3077QFG. Started using range in July 2017. Little over a year of using it the back left burner had issues lighting and oven would take long time (30-60 min) to preheat. I am a sourdough bread baker and the temperature of the oven stopped holding which is VERY frustrating for a baker. Had a licensed professional come out in February 2019 and fix the pilot issue for the back burner and replaced the igniter for the oven. Oven started working decently again. Later fall 2019 oven was acting up again (30-60 min) to pre-heat and not holding temperature. Problem is intermittent. Talked to the same licensed professional January of 2020 and was going to have him come out however magically started working. Oddly the oven seems to pre-heat if I turn on the stove top burners (doesn't work every time although more often then not). The saga continues with the oven having issues about every few months, stops working for 2-3 months then starts working for a few months. Again as I write this review it has stopped working correctly, sometimes does not even pre-heat at all! Also within the last 6 months the decals for temperature and mode are wearing off. I have been so close to kicking this range to the curb!!! I just really want it to work as good as the other Frigidaire professional products that I purchased. There should be no reason that this is happen. This oven is a LEMON for sure! I have notice that there are a lot of customers with same range, purchased around the same time frame, with similar or same issue. Is there a set of serial numbers that Frigidaire has identified as lemons; I believe my range surly will be in this category. HELP FRIDIDAIRE!! How can you make this a better experience for I am surely loosing hope and extremely frustrated with this range.
