DISAPPOINTED

Have this stove for almost three years now. It really works nicely and I just started using the convection portion and am very happy with that also. However I am absolutely disgusted with the fact that the writing around the oven control knobs are wiping off. I only use a microfiber cloth to clean the stove. I read another reviewer with the same issue. I also had to use a sharpie to write in the numbers! What kind of poor quality is that? My beautiful, new stove now looks like a piece of junk.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We’ve tried to stick it out with this awful stove for 3 years. We’re giving up. Oven has had issues lighting since day one. Gas smell pours through the house before it finally lights and FORGET about using the broiler! Tried it twice and had to open windows and leave the house both times. Never used it after that.
We’ve bought parts to replace (igniter for the burners and igniter for the oven), no change.
There’s also an electronic issue with the board. If you turn the oven on to preheat and set the timer immediately after, the stove will blink and completely turn off—safety mechanism gone haywire.
Also irritating—no temp indicator for oven heating. You do not know how hot the oven is.
Don’t buy. Get. A. Different. Stove.

Hello, Ode576.

We appreciate you for stopping by with your review.

I feel terrible to learn about the hurdles you’ve experienced with your range.

If you’re having a gas leak or “smell” gas after installing your range, this typically means the gas hasn’t been converted properly to LP. Also, keep in mind if your unit is not getting the recommended voltage or properly grounded, you may have issues with the electrical components of the range.

Should you need us or have any questions about your range, feel free to chat with us at frigidaire.com or call us by dialing 800-374-4432. Our Customer Care Team is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 am-8pm EST.

Regards-
Derrick

Ongoing Problems with Oven!
on December 30, 2019

I purchased what is supposed to be a Professional Series Gas Range ... aka, a workhorse ... on August 1, 2017. I am an avid home cook and baker. The oven is particularly important, as I am an avid sourdough baker and use the oven probably 300 times a year.
Within 2 weeks of the 1 year warranty expiration (Aug 2018), I started having problems with the oven. And it's been ongoing sense, related to the temperature sensor, ignitor, and other issue. Oven will work ok for a while, then won't retain temperature after heating up. Not cool when you have 4 loaves of sourdough bread in the oven! Plus I've never gotten the performance enhancement from the gas convection feature that the range promises, including inconsistent temperatures throughout the oven area, particularly hotter by the oven door.
I've spent too much money on service calls and parts, not to mention the mind numbing frustration and worry about a crapped out oven while baking. This is going to the curb, to be replaced by a range from another manufacturer on Jan 6, 2020. Pitiful that I'm having to replace this pricey, made in America range after only a bit more than 2.5 years. Professional series this is not! I would never purchase another Frigidaire range again.

Hello, Valued Consumer! Thank you for your review. We sincerely apologize for your experience with your gas range. Rest assured, we make every effort to manufacture quality products and your concerns have not gone unnoticed. The temperature in the oven is pre-set at the factory. When first using the oven, be sure to follow recipe times and temperatures. If you think the oven is cooking too hot or too cool for the temperature you select, you can adjust the actual oven temperature to be more or less than what is displayed by accessing the UPO (User Programmable Offset).
Before adjusting, test a recipe by using a temperature setting higher or lower than the recommended temperature. The baking results should help you to decide how much of an adjustment is needed. Should you need further assistance, please feel free to chat with us online or contact us via phone at 800-374-4432 M-F, 8:30 am- 8:00 pm EST. ~Briana

It's okay!

We have had this range a little over a month. While overall it works fine there are a few issues we wish we had been more knowledgeable about before we bought it. For example there is no temperature display so you don't know the status of the temperature as it heats up. Even with the 16 year old range this one replaced the temperature display let you know quickly the temperature status.
Also while the overall width is standard there is a slight decorative protrusion on each side of the door that goes beyond standard. Because of this each time we open a counter drawer next to the stove it hits this protrusion.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Have had problems, Convection mode strange

We've had problems with the range; in fact, it's the second one (both had issues). The repairman replaced both electronics boards because the oven was turning on by itself (to a low heat, maybe 200 degrees) while all switches were in the off position. Also, there is an unresolved issue with the Convention fan. It only runs part of the time (not continuously as the manual and tech support people say it should). I'm still waiting for an answer on that issue. The burner caps are very fragile; their surfaces seem to be a very thin layer of paint. Not my idea of a "professional" finish. Overall, the range cooks OK, but I agree with others who report the chimes are too soft (quiet) and the timers are hard to set. We have the matching microwave oven too. It's not that great either (replaced once because the first one stopped working). Overall very disappointing. We thought we were getting the best in its class. Guess not. Oh, and this is my second review of this range that I've posted here. Apparently my first review wasn't deemed worthy of posting. Perhaps this one won't be either.

Hello WalterB, thanks for sharing your review with us. We regret to hear that you are disappointed with the features and function of your range. The convection fan will function different with each setting you choose. The PowerPlus™ Preheat feature uses the convection fan to quickly bring the oven up to the set temperature. The convection fan will turn on after 6 minutes and remain on as a convection bake. For setting bake, The convection fan will be on during preheat and then turn off and on occasionally as needed. The convection fan will also stop each time the door is opened. Hope this helps explain a little of what you might be experiencing. Please contact us directly if you should have any additional questions. Thank you,

Cannot even read the numbers or words anymore:(

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Although we love the stove we bought 13 months ago, it is very hard to use the oven. The decals that surrond both of the knobs have come of with simple cleaners. Not sure why- never had this happen before with any other product. We would really love to know if there is a repair kit for us to use that can help use better use our product?

Hey there, Hollylynch!

Thank you for reaching out to us and bringing your concerns to our attention.

When cleaning the knobs and trimming, we recommend using a soft cloth, mild dish detergent and water. You are able to use other cleaners, such as glass cleaners that are non-abrasive being that abrasive cleaners will damage the finish.

Based on your photos, we would like to gain just a little more insight to help you with your concern. At your convenience, feel free to chat with us by going to www.frigidaire.com or call us at 1-800-374-4432 Monday-Friday 8:30 am-8 pm EST.

Best,
Ciara

Works great. has funny random beep

We bought a 2014 and loved it, but it kept making a random beep and after having the service technician out multiple times it was replaced with a new one (the one we are reviewing). It also works very well. I did the the looks of last year's model better. The digital touch pad looked better than the new one. And the knows on the last model had numbers instead of dots (are all the same size, kind of confusing).
As far as operation this one works awesome.
But the new one is beeping also. We have had a new technician out and they have ordered a new circuit board.
Thanks for asking for my review

Has some issues

We have a problem with the knobs being accidently turned on by bumping them or reaching into microwave above range. Not far enough to hear the igniter clicking but enough to open the gas valve. Very bad design. Not noticed until you smell gas.

Glenview, I do have something that will help with those knobs turning when not in use. I would recommend purchasing a heat shield, part 316354300, that would be placed underneath your knobs. This will prevent the knobs from being turned on without effort. We certainly want to keep you and your family safe. As a mom, I would also recommend doing an internet search for knob safety covers. Please do not hesitate to reconnect with us directly if you should have any additional questions. Thank you, Jennifer
