Follow up to "New Range... New Disappointment"

I posted a review 7 months ago on this range. We've encountered a number of issues with this range since purchasing it. The major issue is the design flaw with front knobs. The knobs turn on too easily... just a bump, without turning them, will cause the knob to turn enough for gas to turn on, but the burner will not light. So far we've had numerous instances where this has happened, without realization, until the house was full of gas. In on instance, the knob was bumped prior to someone leaving for work and I came home to find the gas had been on all day... We've had a service person out twice to look at the issue and each time we've been told "it's a design flaw"... the knobs turn and the gas turns on for the burner to light... there's nothing to fix. The repair person went so far as to tell us, "You need to be careful and live with it"... we were also told to keep children and our dogs out of the kitchen". Today I spoke with another representative from your customer service department. She has confirmed the range is working as intended and there is nothing Frigidaire will do to resolve the issue. My options are to purchase "knob covers" or purchase a new range, as there is "nothing wrong" with this one. Over the course of the past year, I have purchased 6 different appliances from this company, spending over $15,000, yet they are not willing to assist in getting this life threatening issues resolved. I have learned 3 things through this experience, that Frigidaire cares nothing about the safety of their consumers, is not willing to stand behind their products...... and I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER FRIGIDAIRE PRODUCT AGAIN.

A bit disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The circuit board on our last Frigidaire Pro stove fried. It had been a scratch and dent model which let the steam into the wrong place, but other than that we had liked the stove. We had to make a quick decision about the new range and liked the new look and what we had heard about the new model. On the positive side, the burners heat up faster, the oven works and it looks good. On the downside, the timer chime (which on the last model was too loud) is now barely audible from the next room. This is an issue because there is often no need to stay in the kitchen while waiting for the oven to finish. Second the initial burn-in period of the oven was 10-12 times. This was horrible. It smelled toxic and we had to open all the windows in the house and run fans. Why is burn in necessary? Why isn’t it done in the factory where all those toxic fumes can be properly remediated? Lastly the non-convection “bake” setting is really loud. Was there no was to insulate the noise? It’s ridiculous. Couple that with the barely audible timer, and it’s a double failure. This stove was expensive. I wish I had known about these things because I would have chosen another brand.

In speaking with our in-house techs, your oven has an insulation jacket around it, and the heat from the “burn off” will make the jacket shrink and insulate the oven. Two defective rands -would not give one star!

Within three days of delivery the electronic ignition blew. A second range blew the electronic ignition within three weeks. We returned the range and chose a different brand

So Far, So Good

I've had the Frigidaire Professional stove for about two months, and I've enjoyed using it. I like the way it looks, but even more I like the extra burner on top and the variety of flame sizes available. I've baked all kinds of things in the oven - from braised chicken to artisan-style whole wheat bread - and it's been up to whatever job I've given it. A couple of minor problems: I can't get the movable shelf out so that it can be moved higher (though I'm usually good at following manuals' instructions), and even the burners with lowest btu's are sometimes too hot. But all in all, I'm satisfied

Not what i expected

We ended up replacing all of our appliances for the Frigidaire Professional Series not thinking we made a bad choice. We have had the oven since Feb 2016 and the inside of the oven (porcelain coating) is chipping away and the oven racks do not slide in easily. The fridge makes a loud humming noise, the bottom freezer rolls out crooked and the handle does not sit flush to the fridge. I am waiting to see when the technician can come out and look at the issues but i will have to demand a new stove.

I bought the package of frig pro series. Microwave , range, frig & dishwasher. The look & design are beautiful. However we have already had to have the microwave & range repaired 4 times (2 times for each). The microwave door does not pop open when button is pushed. It takes several times & you usually have to pull the top to open. The range drawer was not level, which made it difficult to open. Parts had to be ordered & now seems to be okay. Another item to mention is the oven timer. It beeps once very soft, and then again in a minute to remind you. Many times I have not heard it at all. I now set an additional timer for safety.

Poor design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had this range for two months now. One of the burners igniter has stopped working already. It is apparent that the designers of the range have no experience using an oven in real life. The timer volume is so low that you need to be standing near it with no other sounds in the room to hear it. Also the timer interface is not user friendly at all. Does not work well for batch baking because of this!
