cut wire

The wire for the controls and lights runs through a small hole cut in the top portion of the door near the top hinge of the door. The edge of the metal has cut into the wire and is causing the interior lights of the microwave to flicker and I loose the read out on the display panel. This is a major design flaw. The edge of the metal should either have been rolled so it cannot cut into the wire or a grommet should have been placed around the inside edge of that hole. The metal as it is now is too sharp. I have always liked this microwave but now I regret purchasing it. I feel that Frigidaire should issue a recall on these microwaves to repair this issue. In addition to the microwave not being able to operate properly, a person could get shocked or electrocuted by the cut wire.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall good product. The convection oven does not cook as fast as advertised. The directions say to lower the temp by 25 degrees and it should be ready a little faster than a normal oven but that is not correct. I had to increase the temp by 25 degrees and it still took longer than my gas oven. I even tested it to make sure. I put a frozen biscuit in my gas oven at 350 degrees and put a frozen biscuit in the convection oven at 375 degrees at the same time. The gas oven biscuit was cooked 7 minutes sooner and the convection oven biscuit was cooked but could have used a little more browning. I will still use the convection oven but I will use it when I am not in a hurry. By the way, both ovens were preheated before I put the food in.

Love the touch of the controls

Issue with the product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The microwave is installed over the stove. The heat from the stove causes the microwave to be inoperable. Solution, we have to fun the fan on the microwave when using the appliance.

Hi, Unfoyled! Per the Owner's Manual, the turntable cannot be turned off in Convection mode. The constantly moving air surrounds the food to heat the outer portion quickly, creating even browning and sealed-in flavor by the constant motion of hot air over the food surfaces. The turntable helps with the air flow. ~ Brandi
