Serious Design Flaw

Although this microwave is beautiful, amazing and you will be absolutely in love with it after you install it in your kitchen, sadly the love does not last long! You will soon realize that the aesthetically pleasing control panel across the bottom requires wiring through the door hinge, which means the more you open and close the door (you know use it as a microwave or convection oven) the sooner you get to the wires becoming brittle and breaking causing intermittent working to rarely working and sometimes shutting off in the middle of finally working. All of this starts to lead me to wonder is it safe at this point to keep it plugged in and of course at the same extremely mad that my husband and I spent so much money on this microwave, not to mention the extra work required to install it and now we will likely have to replace it after not even 3 years of use!

BROKEN DOOR HANDLE

I Had purchase this microwave about only two years ago and the handle is been broken for half of the time that i had it , the reason I haven’t change it its because just to purchase a new one is ridiculously expensive ! There should be a recall about this product. I hope the company will help me with a new door handle

PROFESSIONAL SERIES? HAS CHEAP HANDLE THAT BREAKS

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have owned this microwave for a couple of years. We also have the matching professional series double wall oven. We like to eat and cook. We are NOT heavy users of the microwave. I might use it to warm up my coffee, for popcorn once or twice a week and maybe to melt butter on occasion. So this Microwave is overkill for what we need but that said would you expect the handle to just Crack and break? NO NO NO, You would not expect that.
There is a super cheap plastic bracket that holds the nice metal handle to the door. It just cracked off today when opening the microwave door. Can't say we use this much to warrant that. We certainly aren't rough when opening the microwave. I would hardly say we abused the handle. This is likely out of warranty and an inconvenience to fix
Other complaints. On more than one occasion the dispaly buttons don't respond when you push the buttons and half of the display buttons won't light. You then have to unplug the microwave, wait a minute and plug I back in.

poor design

The microwave has great features, but I have the same problem as other users. The wire handle was cut in two years of usage, so the microwave no longer work.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Control pad stopped working

I have loved this microwave for about 5 years. Recently the control loaner in the door stopped working. This is due to the constant opening and closing of the door I would assume. The wires are wrapped in a flex wrap mesh material. Poor design. This will continue to happen until Frigidaire puts a hard conduit feed for the wires so they don’t get twisted and pinched. Very dissatisfied due to the cost of this microwave. Thought I would see atleast 10 years out of it considering I clean and maintain it very well.

If front buttons stop responding to touch, read this fix

In case anyone is having the same issue as in the video, I was able to fix mine. The wires in that come from the door and go into the main unit are broken. The hinge design with these wires is crappy and it looks like it wears away on the wires. I took my door off and checked those wires and they are indeed broken. You can solder new wires to replace the broken ones and wrap them up with electrical tape.

Key Pad Stop Working

We've had this product along with the rest of the line for about 2 years(our warranty is also out), and now the microwave/convection will not work. I was very unhappy on Thanksgiving when it stopped working, and I could not use it to help with all the cooking. I'm surprised after 2 years that such an expensive product would just stop working.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Broken (latch bracket) after 2 years

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This OTR Microwave was only being used as a simple microwave and was always difficult to open. This microwave broke down after 2 years of usage. As soon as the microwave is plugged into an electrcal outlet, it trips the circuit breaker. Upon diagnosis, we needed to replace the worn out latch bracket and added silicone dry lubricant to allow a smoother door opening. This professional grade and expensive microwave should not be broken just beyond the 1-year warranty period. I was very disappointed with this simple quality defect and would not recommend this OTR microwave.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
