Excellent quality. Freezer on this particular model is small. I like the pull out shelves in the freezer. The only thing I do not like about this model is the big dome light in the top. It prevents gallon pitchers from sitting on the shelf without lowering the shelf down reducing the space in the frigerator.

The right size

This is one of only a few of the largest sized refridgeraters you can get for a counter depth standard rough opening. It is also one of the most expensive. I have had the refridgerater for about 4 months now and so far so good. Makes more noise than my previous fridge not a GE and the light inside the fridge is way to big and gets in the way. All other features are convenient and work well ice, water digital temp, slide out shelf's and drawers. Good size and nice looking fridge.

This is, without doubt, the noisiest refrigerator we have ever owned. It groans, creaks, thumps, whirs, and that is not even including the ice maker. Sometimes it sounds like a car trying to turn over, just quieter than that. It took our dog a week to get used to all the noises it makes. I like having the ability to have tall items on both the top and bottom shelves, but then the middle shelves are really tight. And the door hinge creaks when opening and closing. I have done everything I can think of to fix that, but no go. An internet search turned up way too many people complaining about that, and no one has yet to find an answer for a fix. No amount of Silicone spray, WD-40, or any other type of squeak-fix product makes any difference for anyone with this issue. The best I can say is that it keeps the food at the right temp, and the freezer freezes, and it looks nice. Not enough for what it cost.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great features & thoughtfully designed

I love the design of this side x side refrigerator. It is thoughtfully designed and beautiful to look at. I love the glossy finish on the front doors and where the water filter is located. Most of the side x sides that I looked at had the filter replacement on the floor at the bottom of the refrigerator, GE put this filter at the top in the back of the top shelf. It takes up little space and is easy to get to when it needs changed. This refrigerator has a great freezer as well. The use of space is well designed and is easy to organize. I love that the shelves on the refrigerator side are adjustable that if I'm having a gathering in my home I can fit a couple of large trays of food in this refrigerator. I also love the compartment that I can put my half gallon almond milk, coffee creamer and other beverages too. Thanks GE for the great design and great customer service.

Very Good so Far

We purchased this refrigerator about 3 months ago to replace a 20 year GE that the compressor was going out on. Now the older model was a standard size at that time and we looked for a long time to find a model that would fit in the exact same hole the old one came out of and this one fit the bill. It also had all the features of the older model including ice and water out of the door and the new water filter system. The only issue we have with the refrigerator is that it is much noisier than the older model and I mean it makes along of strange sounds but we knew this going in from reading other reviews. These noises are not all the time but you do know when it is doing something.

We've had this refrigerator 3 months and very happy with it. I expect it to last as long as previous GE refrigerators ie 20+ years.
