AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

We bought this before most of the reviews were posted here, otherwise we would have gotten something else. We had a full warranty on it, and the magnitron went five times in less then 2.5 years. Eventually, the warranty company paid us off to go away less then half of what we paid for it originally. We're very unhappy, and we're buying a whole other brand of over the range microwave now that doesn't have half of what this one supposed to have because we spent so much money on extended warranties and buying this lemon in the first place. I know some people said avoid the convention setting because that's what makes it break down, but we never got a chance once to use that function so I doubt that's what is causing it.Good news is that the timer works GREAT! The only thing that has worked consistently since day 1.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We went to the appliance store looking for a microwave oven and a wall oven to replace the old ones that we needed to replace.. We didn't realize that such a combination appliance existed, and now that we have it we count it a real blessing. We are still experimenting with all of the uses of this wonderful new addition to our kitchen. My wife and I have been married for over 57 years and this is one of the nicest appliances that we have ever owned. I wanted an oven that my wife could use while standing instead of bending over and I got it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought all new whirlpool appliances for my home a year and a half ago, and this microwave has given me about 7 months working life before the magnatron went again, for the third time. There seems to be a great deal of problems with this microwave's magnatron. I'm very upset to have spent so much money on this product and the repairs, for so little service time. Now I still need a new microwave.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Magnetron went out twice in 2 years. Very disappointed! This appears to be a very common complaint.

Fabulous...but...

This is the best microwave I have ever had except for two things:1. The handle is brittle plastic and broke with normal open and closing. Whirlpool sent me a new one and it is easy to replace - just worried that it will break again.2. The microwave is above our stove and when we boil a pot of water, even with the fan on, the touch pad goes 'haywire' - it seems to think we want to re-heat a cup of coffee according to the read-out. Annoying, but not damaging.Overall, I would recommend - great look and a huge amount of space given the form factor.

Convention feature leaves me disappointed

Although the glossy said cooks faster, not happy with browning capabilities and I don't feel it cooks as well as a standard oven. Additionally the thing is constantly beeping and ask for such things as change time, defrost, etc.. like it has a mind of it's own. At times it gets hung up and you can't enter cancel or whatever.

Pleased with all the features....however...I am glad I got the 5 year extended warranty .... I have had to use it several times.
