Was easy to convert to propane and burners produce excellent, even, clean adjustable flame. Quality construction.

Frigidaire cooktop in a Lennar home

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Difficult to clean the cheap stainless steel. Always liooks dirty. The the cooktop never looks clean. CHEAP stainless steell and the frigidaire microwave is above the cooktop and if the cooktop was used we burn our hands on the microwave handle. Lennar and frigidaire only care about $ not us( the consumers that are forced by builders like LENNAR to use cheap appliances/products)

Replaced 25 year old Amana cooktop with Frigidaire Gallery

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking for a replacement to fit my cutout in my granite island and this Frigidaire fit perfectly plus had great reviews in my research. My old unit was 4 burners with a downdraft exhaust in the center. Now I have 5 burners and the center burner boils water very fast, like 6-7 minutes for a big pot for pasta water. The controls are precise and the flame is perfect. The finish, the controls and the heavy cast iron grates are top quality. I cook a lot. Mostly in cast iron pans and dutch ovens. I used my deep 12' for shrimp and sausage gumbo and could keep a gentle simmer even on the small burner. The other night I had the pasta water going on the big burner, a 10" pan to brown burger, another pot to cook rice and another skillet to saute vegetables all at the same time. I am impressed! Be aware, it is a lot hotter than what I was used to so it took a few cooks to get the flame just right as I go by the flame height rather than the numbers on the control dials. It cleans easily. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was I've only had it for three weeks. Time will tell if the 5th star is coming. This is a well made cooktop that would be welcome in any kitchen.

Great buy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This cooktop was one of 3 I was looking at in that price range but after some research I settled on the Frigidaire.
Excellent quality, sturdy, relatively light weight, all metal including the knobs, and so easy to install. Took me 30min and that's only because I had to loosen a stuck nut. I would definitely buy it again.

What a waste.

I have used this cooktop for about 14 months.
I really disliked this cooktop, pretty much from the first time I used it. It is horribly inefficient.
Too much heat is wasted around the sides of a pot or pan and, if I turn the heat down, the flame is too low to effectively heat the pot and its contents. The handles of the pots invariably get so hot, I need to use heat pads to keep from being burned when I try to remove the pots. So much heat is wasted, the exhaust fan on the microwave above turns on automatically. I am convinced there is too much gap between the grate and the burners.

Also, the knobs can be turned accidentally just by brushing against them. More than once, we have been alarmed by the smell of gas in the kitchen.
