OK Cooktop

Nice looking cooktop but average in functionality, especially in the cleaning department. Have had it for almost two years. The recommended cleaning is with soap and water. Ever tried getting burned-on food off of stainless steel with soap and water? Perhaps, if I stopped cooking immediately after a spill, took everything off the cooktop, carefully removed the hot grates, and immediately removed the offending stain with soap & water, this might work. Right! I now have unremovable stains (no matter what I use to remove them) and the surface is prone to scratches. Am considering replacing it.

Regular cleaning will help reduce the number or major cleanings. Please keep in mind that special care and cleaning are required for maintaining the appearance of stainless-steel parts. We recommend the use of hot, soapy water and a soft dishcloth or kitchens cleaners especially made for cleaning stainless steel to prevent any damages to the finish.

An average cooktop

This cooktop was easy to install and looked good in my kitchen...until I started using it. It has a design flaw at the knobs. A spill can seep into the knob holes and is practically impossible to clean out. Brown spots have started showing up around the burners and they cannot be removed. It appears the finish is turning brown from the heat. The surface also easily gets scratch marks. I am dissatisfied with this unit. It was installed two months ago and it already looks like an old unit. It looks like a cheap, low end appliance. I expected better from a Frigidaire.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was purchased to replace a 20 year old stovetop. We're equipped with Propane, so It was nice to have a conversion kit included. I hired an appliance installer to do the work. Since he performs many of these types of installations, he commented on the quality of this unit. My only complaint is that one of the knobs was damaged right out of the box. Frigidaire warranty has been unresponsive.
