The micro wave has been a real time saver for my wife and I. The product was easy to learn and produces a tasty finished meal.

Magnetron went out twice in 2 years. Very disappointed! This appears to be a very common complaint.

This has been a quality product. It cooks well and is easy to clean. The cons are the sound level and that the filters are not easy to replace.

Only con is that the normal oven function (not microwave) is loud due to fan noise, so we only use it when we have to.The microwave part is perfect.

Microwave function dropped dead

Bought in 2010, but for a summer vacation home where it gets light use for only two months a year, so its actual age at death last Fall was about 14 months at most. We were going to call our excellent repairman but, according to the reviews, the problem is most likely the magnetron and a replacement will also fail in a short time, so we'll have to spring for purchase and installation of new micro-convection, which very definitely will NOT be a Whirlpool.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
