Nice features but the grill broke and paint on handle is com

I LOVE the features of this oven, it does a wonderful job. It cooks very evenly and defrosts things perfectly. But the paint is coming off the door handle and the grill on top cracked and is falling apart. It did both these things when just out of warranty. What a dissapointment! Finding parts has not been easy, the website does not work very well. I still am trying.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good but died in 9 years

We bought a house in December of 2008 and this was part of the appliance package. The microwave worked flawless except for an annoying vibration noise and rattle that was due to a failed bracket for a cover piece that was improperly installed. We had an issue where it stopped working about 5 years after we bought it but it was a door sensor. Fixed that. Worked flawlessly until just recently. Stopped heating and the repair technician pronounced it dead - too costly to repair - cheaper to buy a new one. So, we got 9 years out of it and spent $150 on it over those 9 years. Worked well. Defrost was a little weak. Sad they cannot make microwaves that last longer. Whirlpool Gold use to be the elite of the elite.

Bad High Voltage Inverter

At 5 years of age and gentle use, the high voltage inverter went bad, and the appliance repair shop wanted $325 to repair

Don't buy this product

Was installed in 2007 as part of new home purchase. Inverter, RF unit and display went out one after another in 8 years. In the era where cars can last for ever, a microwave can't work for even a few years is a shame. Wouldn't recommend this product at all. With the amounts of repair cost, I could have bought 2 over the range microwave products. This product is tarnishing Whirlpool brand image. Wouldn't trust anything whirlpool going forward.

really bad

Got this with the house we bought. The house itself was only 8 months old i.e brand new. The handle broke off within 2-3 month. Replacing it is a disaster??_have to take the entire door apart which is a very difficult thing. Also the handle is flaking the silver paint off. Look at any online youtube videos / forums. they all have same problem. So clearly it is a build issue, not an one off thing. Also the grill of the vent fell off by itself. Cannot be replaced back as it came off with the attachment clip. So had to use duct tape. Same issue found all one the internet in different chat forums.Simply the worst thing ever seen. Now it stopped working suddenly. Light, turntable, clock all work??_except it doesn't cook or heat anything!Thanks whirlpool!!! Never again!!!

This thing is junk. Handle looks terrible after a year....replacing it near impossible without breaking door frame. Service call more than a new product. Don't buy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not making the cut

Agree with rubbed off handle paint. My vent cover broke off as well. Now the fan makes a loud sound as it is rubbing against something. Currently have f7 fault. This would be the second service call in 2 years on a 4 yr old product. I'm buying a samsung tomorrow.
