Is like having a mini computer, camera, mp3 player, movie player, and phone with extras with you on the go! The functionality is amazing with all the things you can do with it!
Pros: Personal
I would recommend this to a friend!

The camera is a so-so

I love how the way it works and performs but the camera. The phone messes up the tone, sharpness, and color of the captured image e.g. the one you see in the viewfinder is not the one you see after you tap the screen to take the photo
Pros: Personal, school

Great features, but always the 8xx series are over priced. MS should avoid that in order to draw people.

Great phone. Occasionally hangs (like once in 10-15 days) and a restart does the job, perhaps due to memory overload or something.

As a business user, and gadget fans, I am serious in choosing the most suitable product for me. 820 size is suitable for my pocket. Battery life is average at 8 hours with data plan ON. I am a heavy user of mails, chatting, web search, but not games. The best softwares are OneNote (perfect note taker, where only WP allows Sharing through email... The best, and better than EverNote), OneDrive (with office online editing), pin to start feature (to temporarily replace unavailable apps on WP and more importantly, pin important site, Mai,... On screen for Quick Access.... This is the ASSET or WEAPON of windows.. Please keep it up), Calender (I used my first Sharp Zaurus, Sony P900, then P1,... All because of online calendar... Your weekly Calender design,I would say, is the best so far, in such a small screen, even better than Google calendar.... View weekly plan in one glance. My choice of phone is always "Calender"first... Sound funny? But it is important. No one can live without Calender), pure GPS here maps,.. Which is much much better than others which depending on data plan...i used to travel abroad,...GPS map is fast, convenient, worry free of data plan sky high charges,......
Pros: Personal, Business

WP8.1 OS is excellent, the hardware less so

Windows Phone 8.1 is an amazing OS; however, a major problem I've encountered is battery life issues. On my old Lumia 520, the battery problem ultimately got so bad I bought this 820 as a replacement.
For an old phone (2012), the Lumia 820 holds its own surprisingly well given the price point. Dual core processor, 1GB of RAM, 4.3" screen, decent cameras, MicroSD support, and 16GB of onboard storage- this phone's specs are still pretty good even today. The performance is zippy and smooth, and Windows Phone is finally hitting the maturity it's needed for a long time.
However, Microsoft really needs to fix the overheating and battery life issue now! If I browse the web, play games, or pretty much anything other than keep the phone on standby in my pocket, the device quickly gets too hot to handle and the battery will go from 100% to dead in as little as 1 hour. When I'm using Internet Explorer or GPS, the phone will lose charge WHILE PLUGGED IN.
Maybe future firmware updates will fix this, but it's highly frustrating that a phone with so much that's great about get ruined by one issue.

Great handset for Camera, Features support for NFC, Wireless charging etc. One of the best Mid range phone. But with the poorest Battery life.
used it for more then 1 year unit it fell and the screen got broken. Still kept in my show case as one of the best Windows Phone i owned

Put simply, this is an excellent phone. Only if it had a better battery...

I use this phone every day for phone calls, web browsing, watching movies, listening music, playing games, etc. I also use it at work to test mobile stuff. Everything about the phone is just great, except the battery life which is... well, not even close, especially when compared to Nokia Lumia 630 (which I own also).
Pros: Personal, Business
