Great switch from Android, got me hooked on the Windows phone OS

This was my first Windows phone (I owned Symbian and Android phones, I didn't go for Iphone because I think they're overhyped and too expensive while the system is too "closed off" to other OS phones). I really like Windows OS on Lumia phones! Who cares if, for now, there isn't as many apps available? There are viable alternatives, anyway. And what matters most to me is that the apps don't use too much memory so the phone doesn't lag or hang. It is so fluid. Browsing is fast, too. I like the very customizable live tiles; the seamless integration with my email and social media accounts (i.e., Facebook and Twitter); the accurate maps and navigation system that do not need internet connection (for this reason alone, a friend of mine bought a Lumia phone too - out of envy - because she drives but has a poor sense of direction); the availability of Office and Notes; the handy calendar (which makes me able to see my FB friends' bdays even if they hide it); the lock and glance screens; and the list goes on and on.
All these make me really love my 820. (I am a semi-techie heavy user who insists on looking at/testing every feature on the phone.) The phone is sturdy in my hand and the features are great especially the rear camera that make for really good quality photos even in low light. I am also glad that the 820 could be updated to higher OS, as this only improved the phone even more! So far, it is very rare that I experienced sudden reboot. I just hope it had a better battery, though.
Wishlist (most of which I know can be addressed by improved OS): 1. Include a toggle/shortcut for data connection in the notification bar, so that we don't have to go to settings all the time. 2. Higher resolution for front camera 3. Make it easier to make playlists 4. Allow "space row" among live tiles so that we can cluster tiles as we want 5. More size options for tiles 6. Make it easier to delete temporary files (without having to reformat the phone) 7. Improve Office 8. Improve image stabilization in camera 9. Allow selection of messages in a particular message thread for multiple deletion (so we don't have to either delete messages one at a time or delete the whole thread altogether). 10. More accent colors 11. Do not limit use of tones for messages or notification tones (e.g., SMS alert tones cannot be used for ringtones, and vice versa). If possible, allow the use of all music
Overall, I love my 820. My husband has offered to buy me an upgrade to a bigger Android phone with (seemingly) better hardware, and I said thanks but I am very satisfied with my phone and the OS. When I upgrade, though, I think I'll go for the 830, so I hope some of the items on my wishlist will be answered. I'll just have to save up a little more though.

This phone is incredible. It has all the apps I want. Very easy to use and I wish that Nokia release Amber Update to get screen glance and the other features. it make this phone more likely to buy. I have it for one month and I am glad to have it. I love the wireless charging and removable cover. I really recommended because it's unique. I used to have android but I got bore, nothing new.

My phone is fabulous. It works smoothly and nice. Never tired of working with it, every thing is simple and easy to reach. Brilliant colors, perfect touchscreen. It has dropped on hard surfaces million times but nothing changes. This is my favorite phone. But the softwares have got lot to develope anyway

This device is great, absolutely amazing. The only thing I don't like is it's battery, which is horrible. Even the Lumia 620 was better in this aspect. I have to charge it up to 4 times a day. But overall, it's indeed a great device.
Pros: Personal, Business, gaming

This phone is amazing! The only problem with it is the battery life... It dies very fast if you use it a lot. Overall this is a great phone, I would recommend it to anyone.

Would buy Nokia, Lumia and Windows again

This was my first smart phone and it was recommended in a CNet online Q&A. It was the perfect recommendation for me and super easy to learn and personalize. I watch my husband struggle with his Samsung and I try to help but it's so clumzy to work with compared to my Lumia. Unfortunately I bought a Samsung tablet and have the same issues - wish I'd bought Windows there, too!
