Initial Issue

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After delivery it was discovered the bottom warming drawer didn’t open so a warranty request was placed. Turns out the drawer sliders were not attached to the frame. This was corrected by the service call.

Slide in gas range

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought about a month ago. So far I like it. It does take quite a bit of time to preheat. Over 15 minutes to get to 350°. The simmer burner is a great feature

Trying to be Fair

Had to wait 6 months for delivery due to Covid issues. I'll preface the review with the fact that my husband picked out the KitchenAid suite of appliances based on appearance and his impulsive nature. I just got a Happy One Year Anniversary email from KitchenAid. So I have working knowledge of the appliances. KNOCK WOOD there have not been any repair issues needed. BUT, there small issues add up to much dissatisfaction. 1-The "baking" drawer is NOT for baking but good for warming. Tried to do double duty baking during the holidays-No way. 2- The oven cleaning method is awful. Just a hot, wet mess. 3- The electronic controls are so close to burners that every splash of grease or liquid lands on the controls, AND they panel is not "happy" about me cleaning the panel - constantly beeps as I wipe and dry. 4- The burner knobs are on the front just above oven door. Unless you are at the range you can't tell if a burner knob is off or on. Many times my husband has turned the burner to low and I come to clean hours later and find the burner on, sometimes with the pan still there. 5- And I have, more than once brushed against the front while carrying laundry and discovered the gas was on without a flame. 6- The stainless top must be only a grade or two above aluminum foil. Trying to clean the top from grease or spills, there are numerous scratches from the dish cloth. And Heaven forbid you accidently touch the top with a iron grate. My range top looks older than it's one year. 7- The cast iron grates DONOT clean up at all. I have grease marks that are permanent now partly because no-one but me ever cleans as they spill. I haven't attempted the convection feature, no reason. Plus trying to sort through the directions is arduous, which I had to print from the internet because KitchenAid deems it unnecessary to include an owners manual. Never in my life have I purchased an appliance that had NO manual. BUT I did receive a kit to use with the oven cleaning feature, a sponge .8- I don't want to forget the griddle. Only successful function so far is to warm, lightly toast a hot dog bun. Not good for pancakes or anything that requires regulated cooking temperatures. 9- I have timed this.The oven takes 15 minutes to come to temperature. I have used gas ranges my entire life and expect a bit loner for gas to heat but my expectation was much sooner for electric. I was wrong, so now I plan my meal prep with an extra 15 minutes. So to sum it up, if all you need is a cooktop that you don't care about cleaning, and a hot oven that you can't use oven cleaner to get the baked on grease, this is a good product, both gas/electric is convenient. And it matches the DW and Refrigerator which is the main reason my husband bought the suite..

Disappointed with finish

My new range arrived a few days ago. The gas fitter removed all the blue tape, which tape left lines and messy marks on the stainless on the top front of the range. The marks aren't sticky, it appears they are because the tape had been on the range for so long. The marks do not go away with wiping with a dry cloth. No cleaning product samples came with the stove. I contacted the appliance store, who advised me twice that Whirlpool techs would be contacting me and would attend to clean the marks. There was no follow up from Whirlpool. I contacted the store again and was told to clean it myself. I'm very disappointed that I have a brand new range with marks on the top front of the stainless that cannot be easily wiped away, with no product samples to attempt to clean it myself.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
