Beautiful Range

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had this range for about a month and are overall very happy with it. The stove is beautiful and easy to clean. I am in awe of how fast it brings a huge pot of water to boil! The simmer feature is great, too. The slide out shelf is wonderful, so smooth and sturdy; I hadn't even noticed that feature before we got it home - bonus!!
One back burner sometimes needs a lighter to ignite it, but that's not a big deal considering the price break we got on it. One batch of cookies was nearly ruined, too, but that was user error. We tried to have all three shelves loaded with cookie sheets at once - that was a learning experience!
I'm really happy with it so far.

Some Positive, Some Negative

I bought this range two years ago because I have had many KitchenAid appliances over the years and I'm pleased by the high quality in general. This is a high quality range, but it does have some problems. It is high maintenance and does show every mark or soil, so I take the grates off daily to clean. The stainless steel surface scratches easily. The AquaLIft self-cleaning feature does a very poor job of cleaning. You're not supposed to use chemicals, so when something spills over and burns on the bottom of the oven, I haven't been able to get get the burn off. The biggest problem, however, is dangerous. The range top control knobs turn on very easily, so that when someone accidentally bumps them, the gas turns on (without the flame lighting). I have had several occasions when I have come into the kitchen and smelled gas. I find that the knob is turned on slightly. I'm concerned that this may happen in the evening or just before leaving home, so that I wouldn't notice it before having a large gas build-up in my home.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easily Scratches

My girlfriend loves her new range. Everything she cooks, bakes or broils come out perfectly. The problem is the installer scratched the stainless. I need to know if I can try to repair the scratches but I do not know if the range is coated or not and or which product to try.

Great features!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Installed about 2 months ago when we did a kitchen remodel. Love the features, except when the timer on bake goes off, so does the temperature. Guess that's a safety feature, but if feel need more time to bake, etc., then need to reset temp. Maybe there's a way to override that, but haven't figured it out yet! But, seriously, you will love this range!
