Save Your Money!

I bought this 18 months ago and it’s been a pain...the oven temperature fluctuates, is unreliable. The technician said I need to reset the power at the breaker, due to the electronics being sensitive. Also, the drawer rivets were uneven from the factory, so drawer binds and operates like a flimsy, cheap appliance. Two drawers later, problem unresolved.
Disappointing. Kitchenaide used to be great!

Poor cleaning ability

We built a house and bought a suite of Kitchenaid appliances from a local appliance dealer who is well known and respected. I have two major problems with this unit. The aqua-lift feature is a joke. It does not save electric because by Kitchenaid's own manuel, you need to do multiple cycles to get it clean AND you must scrub the oven to a large extent with only water and a non-abrasive scrubbie. It's like scratching an itch with a feather. I clean my oven monthly and cook in it 1-3 times a week. It looks terrible after 4 years. Second, we use propane and that kicks down the btu's significantly. Check the spec's on that. It takes 20 minutes to boil a pot of water for a 1lb of spaghetti. I can never get a beef stew made in a cast iron pot to maintain a boil w/o the lid being on. Move on to another brand and don't be fooled into purchasing a range with a steam-clean feature.

Beautiful Range, but....

Aesthetically this range is gorgeous! However I would not recommend anyone buy it. KitchenAid markets this range as self-cleaning, but the Aqua Lift technology DOES NOT WORK! I have run the Aqua Lift cleaning 3 times in a row and nothing came off the sides or bottom of my oven. You will also need a bath towel to soak up the 1 3/4 cup of water you poured in the bottom before starting the Aqua Lift cleaning cycle because it will all be sitting there when done. It absolutely does not clean your oven and the owner’s manual says not to use oven cleaner. How you are to clean the oven is beyond me?!? Shame on you KitchenAid for selling a self cleaning oven that does not clean!

Convection?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had my range for a year now. The door never shut properly so that had to be fixed right away. The convection fan runs very silently so it's hard to tell if it is on. I had a dual range convention before which cooked food evenly and quickly. The convenction on this oven is disappointing and the symbols for the burners have already worn off.

So far, wonderful!

Have only been using this range for a couple weeks now and am impressed! Compared to our old range (which was only about six years old), this is far superior. It is sleek and professional looking, while being versatile. I am impressed with the Power Burner and think the stainless steel stovetop is the way to go (versus porcelain) due to easy clean-up. (As well, I think the stainless steel reflects some of the heat back to the pan versus a porcelain top that absorbs it.) The many features of the of the oven make it fun to try new ways of baking (i.e. "Steam Bake") and so far, I give two-thumbs up to how evenly baked things turn out. Another awesome feature of this range is the glass control panel--so much more responsive and nicer looking than the standard plastic ones.
The only negative I have found is that the burner indicator labels are extremely small and hard to see. I am also concerned they may wear off in the future, but we will see.
Looking forward to many years of great food from this wonderful range!
