Really Nice Features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this stove to replace the same model level I bought 12 years ago and because I have a thing about my appliances matching. I really love some of the newer features such as the griddle and the warming drawer. I think the price is a bit high compared to the competition, so I really hope it outperforms my last one that had igniter issues almost from the day I got it. KitchenAid was great in their attempts to fix it under warranty, but it would only fail now and then until it got older and, of course, never when repair people were here! I know from the recent attempts to repair it that it is now a known defect and totally different in this new model. I really like it!

Good looking, but has issues

In August of 2016, we bought a slide-in gas range after a kitchen remodel. We picked this Kitchenaid because it was good looking, and one of only 3 options for a slide-in gas range at HD. We ended up purchasing the Kitchenaid dishwasher and refrigerator as well (so everything would match). Two years in, I have a few thoughts on the range.
Like I said, it is a good looking stove, so no issues there. It's as easy to clean as any other stove I've owned and the oven heats up in an average time. One big thing I did not like right off the bat was how all five ignition/pilot lights go off when you only light one burner. I called about this when we first got the stove and they said that's the way it was designed. After two years I don't notice it as much, but it's a poor design and should be fixed.
After about a year, the fan will kick in when the stove is heating up (I assume it's the convection fan because the manual says the stove uses the convection fan to heat up the oven, even when not using the convection feature). It is super loud and sounds almost broken. After about 10 minutes it stops being loud and all is well (although the fan still runs, it just stops making this terrible noise). It does not make the noise again unless heating up from cold and does not do this every time I use it. I've googled about this issue for a year and no one else complains about it. It could be just my stove. This is not a huge deal, but it is annoying and I paid a lot of money for this oven. It should work properly.
Third, when the oven is on, the top vent blows out hot air. Like, really hot air. Like, it will heat up a frying pan if you put it on the back part of the stove top where the vent is located. I don't think this is unique to Kitchenaid, but something to be aware of if you want to take something out of the oven and let it cool, don't put it on the back part of the stove top. I burned myself grabbing a plate I set back there when I first got the stove and didn't know any better. Blowing 400 degree hot air out the top of an oven seems like a bad idea. I'm no engineer, but that seems stupid to me.
Fourth/fifth, the touch display screen can be a little sensitive and the chrome top around the display scratches easily. Not a huge deal and probably not unique to Kitchenaid either. But something to think about when you buy a range.
Overall, I like how the stove looks. It's functional. But I don't think I'd buy another one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this range, having looked at it in several appliance showrooms. It offered more than I need and am appreciative for all the little extras. But I was totally surprised and not pleased that the center burner was oval. It was a round burner in each venue I visited. I don’t need or use a grill or griddle pan. I wanted the round burner. Disappointing. No one told me of the change. Very disappointing!
