Why did you do away with the panel ready version??

Very, very disappointed that the 18" icemaker is not available panel ready. We had a beautiful panel on our icemachine that I wanted to re-use but could not and the stainless is really ugly in comparison. The handle is way too big and protrudes too far out - looks like a paper towel holder in the middle of the kitchen. I will say, however, that it makes great ice and that was the reason we did not change brands.

It is so convenient having 30 pounds of fresh ice always available. I love the built-in water filter, as it keeps the ice cubes clear and sparkling. The texture of the ice cubes is perfect... not too hard and not too soft. Superior product in every way!

Replaced our previous 18' KitchenAid icemaker after 7 years of a love/hate relationship...absolutely loved it when it was operational but not so much when it was not working. Icemakers are high maintenance! I've always maintained it and cleaned it as recommended by the manufacturer.
This newer model was installed about 3 weeks ago & we're hoping the technology has improved as we've been told. We purchased a 5 year parts & labor warranty just in case we have issues...time will tell!
Wish us luck! For now though, we are loving our ice!!!
