This ice maker was purchased to replace a similar one that was over 10 years old. I loved the original one, and love this one even more! The built in filter is great and I love the Max Ice function for larger get togethers. We've had it for about a month, and couldn't be happier.

We have had free-standing icemakers for 33 years and wouldn't be without one. We have had other makes, but I love this one the most. My only wish is that any of them could possibly be made easier to clean. We do a lot of entertaining with groups of 25 or more and we have found the icemaker an invaluable asset.

We purchased our first KitchenAid icemaker 8 years ago for a new home after studying many other brands. I have to say it has been very very reliable. This year it lost it's refrigeration capabilities so we purchased a new icemaker (same model) with new improvements such as led lighting inside the icemaker, water filter, etc. We have kept the old unit to repair and will keep it for additional use. When it came time to replace the icemaker, there was no doubt in my mind but to purchase another KitchenAid icemaker. Very pleased.
