Love how the water filter is set inside the unit

Loved this ice maker until now. Mold & other issue

We’ve had this ice maker for over three years and all was great until we noticed black mold growing in the back. We are cleaning it and replacing the filter again after only 5 months. The instructions say the cleaning should last about 70 minutes and it’s been running over 4 hours. Not sure what to do from here. Love the ice it makes and look of it so don’t want to change but........anyone else have these issues?

Love the front load filter!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this 45 days ago replacing a much more expensive Scotsman unit. The clear ice quality is wonderful. We believe this design is far superior due to the front load water filter which will not only provide for better quality ice but should also extend the life of the ice machine.
