[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] we live in Florida and thought it would be nice to install a proper ice maker in our new kitchen island. We were told that it required a dedicated floor drain and water line. Much to our dismay, we had no idea that it would continuously cycle and make terribly disruptive bangs and noises. Now we know why hotels keep their ice makers at the ends of the hallways in a separate room. They run VERY hot too. Not to mention it was the most expensive Kitchenaid appliance in our home. In hind sight we would have installed this in our garage or pool lanai - far away from our living quarters.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This ice maker was a replacement to our Kitchenaid icemaker that died after 12 years of service (4 pumps and multiple cutting grids later.) But, we love the ice it made so we kept doing the small repairs until one day the compressor went out and that was all she wrote. We went back with a new kitchenaid and couldn't be happier. It is quieter than the old one and has a water filter that the old ones didn't have. So far we are pleased. It's only been a month, but we are thrilled with our purchase.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our second KitchenAid ice maker--and it is a real step up from the earlier one! Many new features like the built-in water filter. And this one looks as if it will be much easier to clean than the older one. It's also VERY quiet and keeps the ice bin full with no problem.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second KitchenAid undercounter ice maker. The first lasted 4 years. This one doesn't make ice very well or as fast. The ice is always wet and melting even after just being made. We are a family of 4 adults and if we had more in our home, it wouldn't be able to keep up with our needs. That said, we are all away at work or school during the day so the ice maker has a chance to catch up. Not impressed! The only reason I replaced the ice maker is because we are getting ready to sell the house. I didn't want to remodel the kitchen to replace the open spot where the ice maker goes.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are not as pleased with this automatic ice maker as we were with our previous Kitchen Aid 15" purchased in 2006. It is never quite: gurgling, bumping and water flowing. Also the ice sticks together in a big ball in the middle of the icemaker and we have to chip it apart each time we want to get ice. We did not have these issues previously.
