Quality Appliance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used my oven/range top for just over a year and have no regrets. I am an avid baker of bread and enjoy cooking a variety of foods using my stove at least one time daily. Moving to this upgrade for our kitchen has allowed me a great deal more space for pots and pans on the stove top as well as ensuring oven temps are consistent and accurate. Before buying, the reviews from many indicated disappointment in keeping a clean stove top. I do not personally feel that is a downfall as cooking is messy and with the right cleaners and tools to clean (eg microfiber cloths) the stove comes out like new after every use. Yes, you have to clean after every use with the right cleaners. This appliance has been worth the upgrade and would buy again.

What a wonderful range

I was looking at the more expensive "commercial ranges" then I found this. It is beautiful & solid. It is a very nice midway point between the junk ranges & the professional ranges. The burners & wonderful & the oven is even & consistent. Mine sits about 3/4 inch above the countertop because of the flooring but it still looks stunning.

Wish I could go back in time

We bought this stove 3 years ago and I wish I could go back in time and get something else. I very rarely leave negative reviews but I’m hoping to save at least one person from the headache of this stove. I will say, if you don’t have animals/kids then this stove will probably be sufficient but having such touchy knobs on the front is a very poor design feature. I wish when you use the controls on the top to lock the oven, it also locked the knobs. You very lightly brush the knobs and they turn on. It’s happened multiple times. I got home from work today, my mom was over watching my kids and she asked if I smelled gas, one of the knobs was turned and leaking gas. Another time we got home from the store and my very large dog must have hit the knob with his head/nose and turned the knob so it was trying to ignite, well it was getting so hot, it was starting to catch fire a wooden spatula that was on the counter. Luckily we got home in time but the knobs turning on happens at least once a week. It is so frustrating and scary.

Great addition to the kitchen!

KitchenAid has vastly improved its product line, and this slide-in gas range is close to perfect in terms of price, features, and aesthetics. I was torn between the KSGG700 and competing models from Samsung and Bosch, but went with KitchenAid because I have a strong feeling that parts and service will be much easier and cheaper to come by in the future. Also, by placing the glass touchscreen controls horizontally in front of the burners, the range retains a very clean and commercial look to it, which the others don't. It's really gorgeous in person, and the materials are of excellent quality. I would've liked to have been able to buy the KSGG900 version with its additional features and stainless steel surface under the burners, but I wasn't interested in paying a premium for those features.
I should note that I purchased the range from a small retailer in my city rather than a big box store, and I felt good about supporting a local company. Their price was actually less than the big box stores, too!

horrible to clean

This oven has an aqualift cleaning system INSTEAD of self cleaning which I did not realize until I tried to clean it. It does NOT work. I called customer service and was told I have to get on my hands and knees and use a rubber scrapper to get off stuck on dirt in order for aqualift to work. I am over 70 years old and can only get on my hands and knees with great difficulty, but since I am slightly obsessive about a clean oven I tried it but I couldn't get it clean and I am a very neat cook who hardly uses her oven so I think it is horrible and does not work. If I knew I would NOT have bought this model. I move a lot and have always bought Kitchen aid ovens before but never again.

I purchased this range about 6 months ago. I'm on my 2nd range (first one was beyond repair). In 6 months, I've gone through 5 light bulbs, a cracked interior porcelain lining (shipping issue), a broken door, a rattling fan, a loose side panel which causes it to rattle when convection is on, horrible hot zones inside the oven even when convect is used- and now I have a faulty control board meaning I'm without an oven for 2 weeks until the part comes in. What a disappointment. Does it look great? Heck yeah... That's why I bought it. Unfortunately, it appears that the KA factory has very serious quality control issues.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the stove 3 weeks prior to the Thanksgiving Holiday. Stove would not heat up because the door sensor thinks it's open when it's not. Call take out to the house who ordered the circuit board . However wasn't in time to cook on Thanksgiving . Had to cook the entire meal in the microwave oven that I also purchased from Kitchenaid.
