it's most definitely not the defender. it looks and feels cheaper then the defender and you have to remember to make it charge the phone unlike the defender that did it for you. it most definitely not military grade. it doesn't hold up to dust and dirt. No belt clip. Very disappointed after all the money I put out for it. I thought I would be a otter box customer for life but not with this product you went down hill. sad to say.
This case has been outstanding! No more worrying about your battery going dead throughout a long and busy day. My wife and I both have this case and we are both very pleased.
Pros: High quality, Durable
I would recommend this to a friend!

This product did not work from day 1 of purchase. Awful.
Like that the case will re-charge my phone, however, if it is really low (5% or so), it will only charge up to about 70%. Also, I wish the charging plug was the same as the iPhone charging plug, as now I have to dump all of my chargers. Finally, the volume up button does not work right with this case.
This works as advertised in every respect, and, especially when teamed up with Otterbox' optional Alpha Glass, offers very good protection. It does have two drawbacks. First, it is extremely difficult to put on or remove, it could probably have been engineered to offer the user a kinder and gentler experience in this way. Second, it would have been nicer if it had a Thunderbolt connection rather than a USB-mini one. Since I need a Thunderbolt charging cable for other purposes, that would cut down on the number of cables I have to carry around with me when I'm on the road. These tend to add up quickly.
This case is way too heavy! and I am so disappointed that there is another batter case that send an extension for the headphone jack. As with all of the others, this cord does not always work and has a very short life span. No Bueno.
A quality product but has a few shortcomings. First and foremost the lack of a faceplate leaves your phone as an accident waiting to happen. Then the texture of the body is like holding a bar of wet soap, well not as bad but this thing is slippery, I dropped it 3 or 4 times within an hour. To many times for me, to the point I took it off and went back to my other Otterbox, the one that's built like a tank.
Of course the main design of the Resurgence Power Case is the built in battery, it doubles the life of a charge and if you are away from an outlet for an extended time then this is the case for you. I work out in the field and need good solid protection and the Resurgence Power Case falls short on that mark.
Pros: High quality
Cons: not as well protected as other otterbox models
Before I got the Resugence Battery case, my phone was constantly dying--and at the worst time. I am on call and must have access to my phone so this case was a life saver for me.
