I was so excited to get my new refrigerator. Plugged it in and all was good nice and quiet But all of a sudden I here noises from it. Very noisy ☹️
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

There is not much interior space. We had to remove a drawer to be able to have the right amount of room. Spills are difficult to clean on the bottom shelf above the two drawers

No GE badge or plug to cover holds in door on delivery. Light switch broke in less than two weeks. I long for the days when you plug a GE frig in, push it in the corner and checked after 25 years to make sure the lightbulb was still working.

Terrible prepare to waste all of your food

My landlord bought this new frigerator for our unit and after a day or two it stopped freezing and keeping food cold . You can hear that’s it on and it’s faintly blowing air but the freezer is only at 40 degrees and the fridge only gets to 50 I had to put thermometers in there to check because it can be very deceiving seeing your ice cream slowly soften over the course of days .

If you wish to try troubleshooting the issue, we do have an article with information on how to potentially resolve a cooling issue here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=21185 . Among other steps, you can check the gaskets to make sure there's no gaps or tears that are preventing a proper seal, and ensure there's an adequate food load to help maintain a cool internal environment. Your manual also has troubleshooting tips, starting on page 23.
After reviewing our system, we do see you have a service appointment pending. We are confident the technician will be able to properly diagnose and repair the issue. If you need to contact the service department again, they are available at 1-800-432-2737. Our Design team will also be informed of this issue; we value your insight, as we want to be aware of any possible areas of concern.

This GE refrigerator replaces a 25 year old GE that was still operational in my home. I wanted a more energy efficient appliance. After installation I noticed the temperature of the unit at the recommended setting was actually colder. Wow! I thought my old fridge was working pretty well but I expect the new model is even better. There is not a light in the freezer. I'm undecided about whether or not this is bothersome. Overall, it's a nice appliance.
I would recommend this to a friend!
