Had the Nokia 635, wanted 640 so I could Skype, Cricket Wireless made my purchase so easy. This phone is smooth, flawless no delays. Great expendable SD , bright and sleek.

why even bother to compare with iphone or android

Windows lumia 640 is an amazing and unique phone in the market. It may not have apps as half as much compared to ios or android but thats okay, windows phone is smooth and distinctive. Windows is different and awesome phone to use for those people who take things differently. I used ipad mini 3 ios 8 and htc android phone but let me tell you by far windows is my best experience and i dont have to use all fancy apps or heavy games. I can say lumia is for everyone but for me its the best phone till date.

The display and the icons are fantastic.
The screen does NOT get messy or smudged.
The battery life (when on power saving mode) is just unbelievable. I have gone DAYS without recharging.
Camera is breathtaking. Yet to try selfies in daylight.
Frequently needed apps are all ready for you to go.
The phone works great too. Wireless calls are on by default, I turn it off.
I cannot praise this enough. Give this a try. I guess you will love it too, the dimensions may just make you not to leave it.
Yet to try xbox & games stuff.

Amazing phone, Great clarity on display, great battery life, super light for a 5".
2 tips that I found useful.
First OneDrive and WindowsPhone.com to register the device. If you ever lose your phone - you can remote ring it (loud ring even when silent), locate it on map, erase it, lock it with message. If you still cannot find (mine is dead), you can get another and restore everything in 20 mins or less with OneDrive. Just amazing experience.

Second Tip. Buy from Microsoft Store because there service is amazing. Had an issue with an older Nokia 635 (case slightly cracked). Got free replacement and upgrade to 640 (5" HD screen) with absolutely no hassle and without even asking.
Dumping Android for good. Loving the new 640,

Great phone

I purchased the dual sim unlocked version and am extremely pleased with the performance, battery life (and replaceable battery), expandable memory, camera, maps and office programs. The swype-type keyboard is great. Size is just right. Screen is great. Some gaps in apps-but really has all the apps that I regularly use and they work well. Was hesitant to switch from Android, but I'm really liking this phone alot and would easily recommend it.

I just bought this phone and I totally love it!!!! I had the Lumia 521 and its nothing like my new phone. I really like the Lumia Selfie and it works awesome in daylight. I have only had two issues and those came when I installed two apps. Other than that, the phone is awesome...A definite Kudos for Microsoft

I purchased the Lumia 640 first time using a Windows phone. I love it. So easy to use. The key board it large and swipe works great. I use swipe on all my phones and this one has automatically advanced to next word. Once you get a windows phone you will never want to go back to the Android. The graphics on my phone are so vivid and downloading Apps are so easy to do. I love the fact you can sign sound alerts to everything you use. Great phone you won't be disappointed in your purchase.

I work with kids all day and I need constant reminders to do things throughout my day. Cortana is so awesome to help me with that. It is definitely not what I was expecting. Completely different from what I'm used to (Android). However, I love the layout and the bright, bold colors. You can truly make this phone yours with the ability to customize. I have serious phone envy when I ask my friends and family to pick a song while i'm driving and such. This is a great phone for an awesome price and it is totally worth it.
