DON'T BE FOOLED

I know the summary is a little misleading, but what i'm saying here is don't be fooled by the phone's look. I am very surprised with the 640 LTE. Its a good amount of power for the price, you cannot go wrong. Fast, smooth, and crystal clear lcd and takes very high quality shots with the camera. I was a Blackberry and iPhone user, but Windows 10 is awesome and very underrated. Very high quality at an affordable price for the common folk. This is what Microsoft has done. Very very very pleased with this phone. Light, plastic feel which may not be for everyone, but it packs a punch. Good job Microsoft. I think i'm eyeing the 950 XL now....lol

This is my first windows phone, and I am very pleased with it. It runs well, and takes excellent photos. I know the app store isn't full of quality apps, but more added as time goes on. As for sound, the speaker is loud, and the microphone is clear. Very high quality.

Powerful and Easy to Use

For a long time I used basic cell phones that fit in my fanny pack, but knew I needed a phone with more usability to replace lugging my Android tablet around. I looked at Android phones for ATT gophones and was not impressed, even for unlocked ones. Then saw reviews for the Lumia 635 and bought because price was under $50 - fell in love with the way it worked seamlessly with my Windows 8.1 computer, the tiles interface, the long battery life, the durabilty, the call quality, and the ability to use 128gb microsd card to store apps and data. BUT the 512mb of RAM was a bit of a problem for some apps (not a deal breaker) and only a back facing camera.
With the 640, those buts were taken care of and still fits in my fanny pack. It really feels like a high-end phone because a lot of the features are really high-end, but with a very easy user interface. It has all the apps I need, and I never thought it would replace my tablet, but it has.

My last two phones were iPhones. This lumia is replacing an old iPhone 4 which was on its last leg. I was looking for an affordable replacement with all the features of a new modern phone and the 640 does that and more. I've been using the phone now for about a week and can not be happier. The 640 is fast, looks great, has all the features I could want at a wonderful price. The call quality, data speed and LTE network performance it spectacular (on AT&T).

It's the best Windows phone at this price range

Features like glance screen, double tap to wake up and double tap to sleep are awesome features packed in this device, the phone handles apps great in a way that once the app is open it runs out without lag. The only downsides are the transitions or animations. They are not fast, they are not supper slow but when compared to the Windows 10 preview on transitions you get to see the difference. Also it takes a good amount of time to open a webpage. And the rendering of bad. The problem may be with IE but im not sure, they may bring an update latter on, at least I hope so. Other than that everything else works perfect. Calls are clear and no lag in the phone itself

High end Phone for the Price

I recently purchased this phone from my service provider. I upgraded from the Lumia 925. (Yes I actually own my phones longer than 6 months). I've been a Windows phone fan since 7.5 AKA mango. I've experienced the "growth" of windows phone. This model feels like a high end phone with the processing speed and the features available. This phone is very responsive and the OS is the best I've experienced with Windows phone. It hasn't had the update to 10 yet. The expandable memory and the fact that I can put my apps on the memory card is huge. Less than 8GB mass storage is small for the amount of space needed for the quantity of apps I use. My only complaint is about Windows phone in general and not this model specifically. There aren't enough organizations investing in making apps compatible for Windows phone. My hope is that this will change with the update to 10.
