[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought some years back. Currently rockin the LG V20. Was a great product. No issues what so ever. Greatest feature was being able to remove battery and replace it with a freshly charged one for continued use. Of course LG finds a way to improve things. #LGV30 #LGforLife

My favorite phone

I have had an iPhone since they came to Verizon. I got tired of the tiny little screen, and lack of customer service. I wanted to go back to Android for the first time since Android 2.0. I bought a GS5 because they were the most popular. It was terrible. Could not make or recieve calls, and kept turning itself off, even with full battery. I decided to do some research and buy a phone that worked. It came down to the Xperia z2, or the LG G3. I went with the thin bezels giving a same size device, a much larger screen. Best decision i have ever made. The phone works, it is fast, there is no software lag. The Quad HD is stunning. The ONLY downside is, if you are a heavy phone user, you will need a second battery. I am a light to moderate user, so i get 10 hours of battery. However, someone who uses it constantly, will find only 4-6 hours. Other than that, this phone is the best on the market right now.

Practically useless since the Lollipop update...

I was very satisfied with the phone until the Lollipop update. Now it I can't even dial out on it half the time... the phone shuts down inexplicably, and many of the apps don't function properly. The battery drains in a few hours with no apps running, and it takes forever to charge. It's really hot, freezes constantly, and LG doesn't seem to be acknowledging the issue at all.

many unexpected issues - dissappointed

The positives first, nice design, attractive. The battery life is terrible, the android text messaging is awful - it gives me the worst suggestions possible that make no sense. I'm typing Debbie - add an apostrophy and it suggest Danny's no mention of Debbie. I spell a word and it takes over and puts in a number. Poor reception as well.

Potential that quietly slipped away.

I pre-ordered my LG G3 VS985 just before the official launch, and was so excited when it arrived early in the afternoon, on the day of launch. I had been using the LG G2 along with a couple other devices, and the G2 was a phenomenal piece of hardware, and I expected no less of the G3. Not long after I received it, I began to notice some issues. The Smart Notice widget stutters so badly, and barely ever updates. Most of the weather effects would not appear on the lock screen. The phone was stripped of its task manager widget and flashlight widget. The "Smart Tips" bulletin never changes and features very basic information. Even when you flip to it, the phone seems to struggle and half the time it just pops up, the other half it just sputters along. As I did more research I found more missing features. Stripped from the phone were the LG Update Center app, the QTheater app, Quick Translater app, the App Update Center, and even simple things such as the STOCK LG BROWSER AND LG SETUP. There really is no justifying stripping these devices of most of these apps and features. Since having the device in hand, there have been ZERO updates for it to address any issues, as where most other variants have received at least one, with many of them receiving 2 or even 3 updates to help the device smooth out its software imperfections. Its become very evident that this variant of the G3 will continually be ignored during its brief life cycle. With no updates, a locked bootloader, and a sick kernel, this device has been a very frustrating experience. The physical design and incredibly small foot print for such a large display make the device itself pleasurable to hold and look at, but the missing features and performance issues makes using this device very frustrating.
Pros: Style/Design

the picture on this device is stellar, however, it is ruined by not having decent speakers. not only do the speakers not put out enough, they are rear speakers, which somewhat take away from the video experience. otherwise, quick, and smooth. just would like to see a stronger glass. mine cracked right away, and am stuck with it now.
