Lots of little things wrong

1. Terrible display, no where near the contrast as the picture shows, nor are the digit segments as thick. Very limited viewing angle. Backlight so bright it burns your eyes at night.
2. Doesn't seem to work when the volume switch is in the off position, but it doesn't say that any place in the manual. No place to disable volume beep, so if you hit a button to light the backlight it beeps, sometimes twice depending on what button you press.
3. Description on website says AM/FM stereo, kind of hard to do with one speaker
4. Menu options that aren't mentioned in the manual
If they didn't sweat the small stuff what kind of engineering went into the actual radio?

Not what I expected

I bought this for my mother who was really wanting an am/fm radio. I thought having the weather alert would be a great bonus. Turns out the weather report comes in well but the am/fm barely gets any stations. The few that do come in sound like they’re traveling through a tin can.

AM/FM will definitely be a nice feature for you favorite songs, it's still a shame that you have to program in a SAME code, but it was a good christmas gift

Easy to program and love the ability to set the siren to "Low”.
One change I’d suggest is making the characters and icons larger. They are small and are hard to see even when the backlight is on. They need to be a little larger and bold.
Plan to buy one for my granddaughter!

We bought three of these units and placed them in key locations in our manufacturing plant. The very next day we had a Tornado warning. Everyone was fine and there was no damage, but the radios helped to keep those sheltered informed.

I like the option to select the less critical alerts for our radio such as tsunami or high winds. I was surprised by the high quality of the AM/FM radio too. The overall sound quality is very good.

I’ve had this radio for many years as we live in the tornado belt. It, along with our storm shelter, have been life savers..that is until this season when the weather portion of the radio died. I need those precious minutes it gave us.

Some instructions fall short of clarity. Overall, the written instructions do suffice.
The display viewing angle precludes reading from above. You must be at roughly a 45 degree or less angle to read the LCD.
