This cooktop has been used in the house for 15 years, though we have been using it for 2 years only. I was thinking to upgrade it to some more powerful one, but after days of research, the newer product doesn't seem to dominate this one much...I might have to live with it for a couple years more!

If you boil a pot of tea, you will have to clean the entire cook top with a special cleaner or it will streak and look horrible. Also, every time you wipe past one of the burners it falls off. Between constantly cleaning the cook top and putting the burners back in to position, I could just SCREAM! This truly is the worst product I have ever owned. BTW the product you need to clean the top with, well let me put it to you this way, its easier to wax your car, and takes less time.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love this Cooktop

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just moved into our new home built here in Mart Tx and we put this cooktop because it is a GE Profile and our second one we have purchased. The first one replaced another cooktop in our last home. The grates are very durable, and we like that you can sit your cooking pot or pan anywhere as they are all connected. This is the easiest to clean up, we just use soap and hot water after each use. The grates once in a while go into the dishwasher and come out like new. We sat a cast iron grill on the back burners, and use this so often. There are different levels of BTU on the burners, great
feature. It also has a safety lock if you have small children. It looks great with the new counter top. I prefer a cooktop to a free standing stove because it gives room below the cooktop for big pull out drawers or shelves for storing cookware, and this cooktop is 36 inches giving room for serious stove top cooking. We bought all new GE Profile appliances for this new home, wait till I tell you about our new GE Profile Convection Wall Ovens, again, Thank You

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] No inner ring on the large burner really reduces its usefulness. Extremely hard to keep clean. Not reliable - when you clean it, don't get water under the control knobs... at best you'll temporarily short things out, and at worst you'll have to have the main board replaced for a few hundred dollars (spoken from experience). The knobs are also very imprecise - there's a lot of play in them, meaning you can move the knob from 4 to 6 without actually changing the flame.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first gas cook top. I will buy gas from now on. It is wonderful to cook on. It has a lock feature so that burners don't accidentally get turned on. It is also easy to clean up.
