Received my new Otterbox Preserver case. I did the 30 minute water test as recommended. After 30 minutes, the case was still water tight. My Samsung Galaxy S5 fits perfectly. It even fits on my Defender belt clip, though in reverse. The phone display faces outward as opposed to inward as when I use my Defender case.
The only drawback to the Preserver case is that the USB charge port can only be opened using the special hand tool provided with the Preserver. The hand tool is very easy to use. However, since the tool can become lost or damaged, Otterbox should make spares readily available. This would allow the user to keep one or more of the Otterbox hand tools at home and keep one in the car. Without this availability, it will be necessary to remove the case (which is more difficult without the hand tool) in order to open the USB port for charging. If not for this issue I would have given design an excellent rating as opposed to good and I would have given the overall rating 5 stars instead of 4.
Pros: High quality, Durable
Cons: need to offer spare hand tools to open usb port
being that it's the S5 it's a reasonably large phone, and the case didn't come with any sort of clip, so I have to carry it in my pocket. The back of the case periodically comes "unsnapped" and it's really kinda annoying to have to reseal the phone all the time. I'm also assuming this is how all the "debris" keeps getting inside the case inbetween the screen protector and my phone. I'm not really all that fond of this case...
Overall if you're looking for a case that will preserve your phone then this is for you. My only complaints are that my aux cable doesn't plug into the headphones jack anymore because the case blocks it from doing so. Also it does GREAT in regards to underwater protection but if you're planning on taking photos underwater you need to use the side button because the touch-sensor for the screen goes all wonky when underwater. The sound is very slightly muffled but impressively clear considering it's water proof.
I've had the preserver for a couple of weeks now for my S5, and after fishing almost everyday this summer, and even in the fall, I don't think I've made a bad decision in buying it. I fish everywhere, off the shore/dock,boat/canoe even wade in up over my waist, I used to have to leave my phone in my car or at least in a waterproof bag. I have no fear of leaving my phone in my pocket now. I even had my phone drop overboard my canoe, after about 15 minutes trying to find the thing (kicked up a lot of mud and sand) and fishing it out, phone was still blasting pandora.
My only complaint, if it can even be a complaint, would be the plug that covers the charging port, it works perfectly to keep out water, but it does make it a bit difficult to get to the charger cover for the actual phone, if you don't have very long finger nails, sometimes I will have to use a pocket knife or something to get to it.
All in all pretty great case, if they ever come out with a new design that fixed that bottom plug, there would be no second thought into getting another preserver for my next phone.
Protection wise for my Galaxy S5 it is realy good but case is too big. Also the bottons are hard to push and really often I have problems taking screen pictures due side botton is hard to press. If you are looking for protection is really good but fail on comfort.
Pros: High quality, Durable
Cons: to big
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love this case! I take my phone everywhere, including paddleboarding in the ocean and on the boat. I needed a waterproof case that I could take everywhere and not have to worry about messing up my new S5. I've drop tested this thing quite a few times on accident. It falls out of my lap on a regular basis when getting out of my work truck, at least a 6' drop on concrete every time. it somehow shows almost no wear at all either and is still 100% waterproof. I wouldn't even use my phone for the first couple of months because I knew I would break it without a case and I didn't want to get a cheap case. I was going back and fourth between this and the Lifeproof Fre and I chose this one because it seems more sturdy and the Lifeproof had a lot of bad reviews due to echoing. While talking on this phone, I can't even tell it has a case on it. It doesn't echo at all, nor does it sound muffled.
I gave the case 4 stars for design only because charging it is a pain with the S5's original port cover. I have thought about just pulling that one out as it is not really needed, but I don't like the idea of permanently taking that off my phone. I don't think I could get it back on if I ever decided to. Also, It does provide that little extra waterproofness in the event the case leaks. I doubt it will, but with the way I drop my phone, you never know. I just keep a knife by my charger and use that to pop it open. If you have finger nails you won't have any issues.
I've had this case now for about 4 months or so and would not trade it in for anything else.
Pros: High quality, Durable, looks good, light weight, doesn't add much bulk for the protection you get
After going through many tests for my Samsung Galaxy phones, both the S4 and S5, I've determined that this Preserver Series is definitely the best. Clarity when speaking, extremely easy to use, plus the charger port key that comes with it makes life easy to keep your battery charged.
I kayak fish a lot, more than most, and it's definitely safe in this case and I can also take underwater photos/video like it's nothing!
I highly suggest this case if you're living a water-lifestyle.
Pros: High quality, Durable, secure, functionally sound, clear volume, i could go on...
