Only one problem

Great product but I wish it had a belt clip holster. That is the only problem. Defender has one but not the preserver. Hope they think about coming out with one soon.
I got the preserver series case for durability and the extra water proofing that came with it. Looking at other reviewers I see complaints concerned toward the USB 3.0 plug-in. I do see where it may be an issue for some to open the charging area since the phone is water prof itself. The silicone piece the the preserver case is simple to open up, however, when it comes the opening the phones part it may be difficult for some. One would need at least a nail or paper clip to get the tiny door open to stick the USB 3.0 into the phone. It would be easier if Otter Box places the silicone piece the opposite way on the bottom of the phone. Other then the charging compartment, the case has been fantastic. It is super durable and doesn't mess with the phone features at all. The heart rate monitor works fine, the finger scanner works fine, and phone calls through the speaker and earpiece works fantastic to. For those of you who want to know the size of the case, think of going from an Samsung S5 phone to a Note 2 or 3 phone. I put the case next to a note 2 and its just about the same size in length, however, the width is a little thinker. If you can deal with that and the charging issue, I know I can for the piece of mind, then this case is for you
I only had it in a 3 foot above ground pool and only submerged it twice and did not have it more than a foot under water and 30 minutes later I noticed a little bit of water inside the case (not a big deal since the S5 is water resistant anyway), but a case that cost this much should work as stated.
The problem with the preserver s5 case is that after putting this case on, it is almost impossible to open the waterproof flap which comes with s5. The preserver's waterproof flap can be opened but not the original one inside. One has to use toothpick like object to get it opened. It is way to thick for our hands to reach and open the flap. That is a major design flaw.
Pros: Waterproof - Test your case before installing the phone!!!! The directions say how to test it and do it it's only 5 minutes, totally worth it for the piece of mind.
Durable - I've dropped it at least 10 times in the last week alone and it's still working great, each drop a minimum of 2 feet usually around 3 feet as I send it flying off my desk, oopes.
Full use of the screen- So my previous experience with screen protectors is that they vastly reduced the capabilities of the screen. But this one leaves the screen responsive still.
Cons: Scratches - I tend to carry my keys in the same pocket as my phone and I've noticed that the screen protector is starting to get scars. So it's not scratch proof.
Music - I tend to play music on my phone's speaker and the treble can get very squeaky.
Neither here or there: Some people feel the case is too large, personally I think the s5 is to large to start with and the case doesn't make that much of a difference either way.
The other major complaint that people have is that the charging flap makes it hard to get to the USB adapter for the phone. This doesn't bother me because they supply a tool with the case to open the little flap, just attach the tool to your key chain and your good to go. Careful to not throw the tool away, it looks like you are just supposed to use it once, but it is actually quite good.
Some people have had a hard time hearing me on speakerphone, but I tend to use Bluetooth anyway so that had no effect on me.
Summery: It does exactly what they claim it does, and has surprisingly few of the problems that are usually associated with sound and waterproofing. It might be a little on the expensive side but it's a whole lot cheaper than a new phone, and if you spend any time in the water I fully endorse waterproofing.
