How can you charge your s5 in this case???? First off you need the tool with you at all times which is annoying... Second off how can you open the cover to the port? You need to basically take the whole case off when u want to charge your phone!

Lost Headphone Jack Cover

Over time the headphone jack cover became loose. One day it fell out and I lost it. Once this happened the case was no longer water, and more importantly, dust and dirt proof. So far the shock protection has still maintained, but now I have to clean inside the case occasionally. With my job, I need a case that can protect my phone in all types of weather and environments, which it did, up until the poor rubber cover of the audio jack fell out.
The charging port cover is a pain as well, but I've learned to overcome it, even when I don't have the tool. My wristwatch latch fits perfectly for the job. It's definitely something to consider when buying this product though.
Pros: Durable
Cons: poor design for port covers

Protects the phone, but shatters

The charge port is difficult to get to: difficult enough they have to include a special tool. But you get used to that, eventually.
The real con to this case is that even though it protects the phone, the case itself shatters on impact. My phone slipped out of my hands from about 3 feet, and the corners of the case shattered. Now I have to buy a whole new case. Contrast that with the Defender series, which is less expensive AND has a rubber outside, and there's no reason to buy this case. Especially since the phone itself is already waterproof.
I wish I'd not gone with the Preserver.
Cons: Not durable, difficult to access the charge port, not worth the money.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought the Preserver Series for my Galaxy S5, but sadly, I'm disappointed. Frankly, this thing is a brick. Heavy, boxy, has to be opened with a tool, and the On / Off button requires super- human strength to push. My biggest complaint, besides the price, is the power charging port. It is virtually impossible for me to open the power port access hatch on the phone without using a knife or other sharp object to open the door. I must charge my phone daily, so this is a major issue that can only be fixed by throwing away the Otterbox!

Cons: heavy, it's a brick, case opening, power port access, power button hard to press, tool required to open case, astronomical price

I bought the most expensive OtterBox Preserver series for it's waterproof feature. However, after finding the Galaxy S5 itself comes waterproof from the factory I'd recommend getting the Defender series which is nearly 50% less expensive than the waterproof Preserver series.
Pros: High quality, Durable, attractive, lanyard makes pocket retrieval fast and easy
Cons: near impossible to access the phones charging port, buttons on phone very difficult to press, makes phone huge, screen protector itself scratches, no belt clip, makes front camera cloudy
