After all of the hype I finally bought this Galaxy Tab S 8.4 about a year ago and it was OK until the Lollipop 5.0.2 update. The only advantage it has over my Kindle Fire HD is speed sd card storage and weight. Streaming is a real problem, bloatware, proxy sound text sizing are also issues. I haven't performed a reset as yet.
Pros: Realistic color, Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Even though I am not a big fan of Samaung UI, but the tablet performs great and fits my needs. The new UI down get in the way much. The tablet is fast and responsive.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight, thin, screen size and form factor

I was really excited about getting my samsung tab s but I am disappointed because it will not allow me to use some of my Web sites. When trying to register my new tablet I was told I would have to register it on a computer and there are other Web sites I can't register in. I can do more on my galaxy s5 phone then I can do on my tablet. I bought the tablet so I wouldn't have to use my computer but I find I can't. If I was rich I would by a different tablet that I can actually use for things other then just play games. Disappointed with samsung.
Cons: Did not meet expectations

I originally purchased the Galaxy Tab 4 -10.1" tablet. After I got it home, I found the screen to be unclear, like I needed to update my eyeglass prescription. It wasn't as sharp as I thought it would be.
I returned the tablet to the store and ended up exchanging it for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4" tablet. I LOVE my Samsung Tab S 8.4'. The Super AMOLED display makes every image look sharp and gorgeous. The performance of this tablet is very fast and responsive too. It was a bit expensive, but it was worth it.
Pros: Realistic color, Bright display, Built-in speakers, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: a bit expensive

Love my Samsung tablet!

I use my tablet hours daily. I read books on it, I check email, facebook, the news and at the end of the day often play games while watching t .v. love it! I am finding I may get the larger size next time so it will be a bit larger print on websites. But for travel, this size is just great, fits in my purse easily and not heavy so easy to take with.
