Excellent device, good battery and screen

This is an excellent device. The screen and battery life are both very good, and it's extremely fast.
I use mine for reading and examining photos I've taken on multi-day trips, it works a treat. The battery life is pretty fair, and the limited Samsung customizations are (to me) actually good improvements over stock Android.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight

Possibly the best tablet out there

Great speed and performance along with a super hd colorfull display. But the camera could have been better but still good. Should have been waterproof.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Lightweight, vibrant colors

Great little tablet!!

I wanted something that I could do my basic email, and social networking on; maybe play a few games here and there. I also thought it would be good for reading books, watching videos, and storing photos. I thought about my 6 year old grand daughter who loves learning games. I am very pleased with this tablet because it is everything I need it to be. It travels nicely when needed, in it's own little case, fits in my purse. It's a great tablet, easy to use, and exactly perfect for me.....without having to spend MORE for what others think are better tablets.
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color, Bright display, Built-in speakers, Durable, Lightweight

Not enough internal storage

The Samsung Galaxy tab S 8.4 only comes with 16 GB of internal storage. With the operating software, Samsung pre-installed apps and android pre- installed aps you have less than 6.5 GB (40%) of internal storage left for your own use. Even though you can add a sd card, the pre installed aps cannot be deleted or moved to the sd card. Many of the free or purchased apps are also not able to be downloaded to sd card thus you are limited to the number you can download. Like wise most purchased or rented movies have to be downloaded to internal storage limiting you to 1 to 2 movies for offline viewing. I highly recommend that when purchasing a Tablet that it be a minimum of 32 GB.
Pros: Realistic color, Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: not enough internal storage, too many pre-installed apps that cannot be deleted

This applies to this tablet and my Galaxy S5. It is nice that Samsung provides means for extra storage, but what you don't know is that most of this external SD memory is unavailable to many of the large apps and NONE of the bloatware that comes with every Samsung. Therefore you run out of memory rather quickly and you are constantly moving what apps can go to the SD drive to that drive. Every time an app updates, it loads back into system memory. Makes you move it again. I spend way too much time managing memory when I shouldn't have to because I have a 64gb card installed. This is an android issue, but the loading with bloatware that you can't delete is a Samsung issue.
Pros: Realistic color, Bright display
Cons: Did not meet expectations, bloatware, insufficient system memory
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought the S 8.4 to compliment my Samsung Notes phone, especially for purpose of reading Kindle books. I'm loving it for reading immediately and have found it great for viewing videos. The display is superb with rich colors. So far, no negatives.
