I purchased this about 6 months ago and it has been amazing. It's speed and graphics are a major upgrade from my old samsung 8.9 which I was in love w/ before getting the S. I had problems with the battery when I purchased it, but after sending it back to samsung the battery life has signifcantly improved and is now meeting expectation. While the 8" seems much smaller than my 8.9, The illusion of the smaller screen is only because there is no bezell, which make viewing really nice.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, easy to use
I would recommend this to a friend!

Works well for what I use it for. It was ready right out of the box. Easy to learn on for a beginner. I love the bright screen and easy to use keyboard. I use it mostly for reading, genealogy research and social games.
The tablet is awesome and i would recommend it to all my friends. Kids enjoying the tablet. I also got a case for it and it works just fine. Battery life is 7 hours long. Now kids want another tablet and are fighting over the one i got. I feel bad because i cannot afford another one but i would love for both of my boys to have one. I do some work on it as well when hey go to bed :-) .
Do not waist your money on any other tablet but this one. Well may be a 10.1; 10.5 is as good.
The only Samsung tablet features a really clear and bright display

I love the predictive typing but find the voice dictation lacking severely from my iPhone dictation. I love the expansion capabilities with the micro SD slot, and that is the primary reason that I chose my Galaxy tablet over an iPad! I can load up my tablet with editable doc files and spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations and also easily transfer and edit files from my PC'S while cabled up through a USB port. PDF files are also handled great on the SD card.
So far I've been able to find almost all of the apps that I use on my iPhone available through the Google Playstore. Also, I can automatically sync and work with my iCloud email, calendar, contacts and notes seemlessly. My biggest fear when expanding to the Samsung Galaxy tablet was that I would be held hostage to the Apple products, but Samsung and Google have made the switch and the capability possible to work on cross platforms.
I will consider switching to a Galaxy phone when the time comes if the capability exists to import my contacts, calendar, and notes into the galaxy platform. Also would need to see the voice dictation ironed out.
