I love my new gadget! I have no complaints as of yet. I love that it syncs with my phone. its small and lightweight, but the screen size is just right! Love Samsung products! Screen resolution is AWES0ME!
bought two of the tab s in may about and ive had to return 1 due to not powering on, and now my second one is now giving me the same problem of not powering on. one wont conn.ect to the internet
Cons: Did not meet expectations, stops powering on, wont connect to wifi
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I got this as an early Christmas present a few weeks ago and I am loving it! I have the Galaxy S4 phone so it's like having a larger version of that with many extras. So easy to use. Very intuitive. Good job Samsung!
Got this for myself and can't put it down. Love how the colors on the screen are bright and vibrant. Performance is excellent. No real learning curve in using it. Also love how it can sync with my Galaxy Note 4 and mirror the screen. I can even answer call on the tablet once it is synced with my phone. I highly recommend this tablet.
I am transitioning over from the iPad and so far I really like the galaxy tab S. I'm not having any of the issues I had with the iPad crashing and blinking out on me.
Pros: Lightweight
I would recommend this to a friend!

Perfect for travel

I shopped tablets looking for a product that I could carry with me on a cruise/tour to Alaska this year. When I travel by car, I take my 17 inch laptop -- but that's not practical when flying and cruising and trekking around Alaska.
I also don't have a smartphone - I still use an old clamshell phone with a pretty lame camera so I can't use my phone for checking email or looking up information on a website. I don't access my bank and wasn't planning to purchase anything via the table so I didn't need airtight security -- only wanted a WIFI capability. I also wasn't interested in upgrading my phone to a smartphone (to get better camera, web/email access) due to the increased monthly cost of a data plan that I really don't need -- I'm retired and on a fixed income.
Not knowing which hotel rooms or if the ship would have a safe in the room, I assumed that I'd have to carry any tablet with me most of the time. Therefore, I was looking for something that would fit in my purse and not be too heavy to carry around. I also wanted a pretty good camera. This product gave me all of that and more. This little Galaxy is the perfect size and has an amazing screen and resolution. I really liked the larger Galaxy tablets -- but not for carrying all day, so this size was great. I looked at a couple of smaller tablets, but they were just too small - this 8.4 size seemed perfect.
The pictures that I took in Alaska with the tablet are outstanding even though the tablet doesn't have much optical zoom capability. Nonetheless, I have beautiful pictures. I love that I could use a microSD card in the tablet to store pictures rather than using up my table storage.
I found it easy to access WIFI in hotels, airports and other locations when I wanted to access email or get to websites when needed. I also downloaded a couple of magazines onto the table which I enjoyed reading on the multiple plane flights during my trip. The camera is clear enough that I took pictures of several documents necessary for the trip and they were crystal clear for reading. I also took pictures of passports and other documents that could cause problems if they were lost.
The tablet is fast (for my needs - I'm not a gamer) and very easy to navigate.
I learn more every day about the features available on this thing. I bought it two weeks before my Alaska trip and since it doesn't come with an owners manual -- and I kept getting a message on line at the Samsung website that the manual wasn't available yet --- I just started playing. The help button on the table led me to the owners manual, but I was too busy using the tablet and enjoying Alaska to research much. I didn't figure out that I had a panarama picture ability until after the trip. It's a pretty incredible panarama abilty too.. so I guess I have to go back to Alaska and take some more pictures...
Anyway, I don't think my laptop will be doing much traveling going forward....my tablet will fill my travel needs. I love this thing.
A nice large and very clear screen with a great overall design, but there are way too many Samsung modifications to the android operating system. Unless you are a power user who wants to stream lots of videos or do Office type work, I suggest one of Samsung's less expensive tablets might be a better value for you.
